🚨NEW BCSN TOP 5 FOOTBALL POWER RANKINGS!
There is a new No. 1 in the Division I BCSN Top 5 Football Power Rankings, as Alabama A&M makes a two-position jump to the top of the standings following games played through October 24.
Virginia State, meanwhile, remains No. 1 in the Non-Division I rankings, but the teams immediately behind the Trojans continue to close the gap as Virginia Union, Benedict and Kentucky State all move up one position.

If the Division II season ended Saturday, seven HBCUs would make the playoff field in Super Regions One and Two. The CIAA would send Virginia State, Virginia Union, and Bowie State, and the SIAC would send Kentucky State, Edward Waters, Benedict, and Central State.

Three Division I HBCU games were decided on the final play or the final minute in Week 8.
Bethune-Cookman scored with 40 seconds left to beat No. 1 Jackson State, and the Tigers missed a 49-yard field goal at the horn. Ben Chandler IV's 87-yard interception return ended Howard's overtime win at Morgan State. Miguel Arana's 46-yard field goal with one second left gave Texas Southern its first SWAC win.
