Potemkin City is finished. A silent short set in 1920s New York, staged as a homage to the Odessa Steps: a baby's pram rolls down the stairs and nobody looks up from their phone.
I made it in 2 days with @grok, @ChatGPT, @magnific and @ElevenLabs. How it was built, shot by shot:
Christopher Nolan says Hollywood’s AI fight now rests with the studios that own the films. “We’re very focused at the guild about holding the studios to account for protecting their copyrights,” the DGA president says of the next phase of protections in film and TV production.

This Is Why Hollywood Is Using AI.
I used to want blanks for my action scenes. I wanted that flash on the actor’s face and that crack echoing off the walls. Then I saw the bill. Location fees, permits, insurance.
I made this nightclub shootout with a toy and Topview T1 + Seedance 2.5.

More and more directors are making the leap into AI. This one is going to the London AI Movie Awards. Looking forward to seeing the winners.
After 20 years directing fiction and commercials, I’m on my way to the AI Movie Awards in London to join a panel on authorship and creativity in AI filmmaking, with Emilie Van Der Lande and Fab Morvan, and the amazing teams at the AI Movie Awards and James Drake Media
We live in a strange reality: it’s easier than ever to create, and more important than ever to take care of that creation. To shape it, nurture it, bring your unique talent to it, and edit it into something that truly makes you happy and moves others.
Spend more time looking within to find what you really want to say. Taste and editing are becoming the real skills. Directing is like shaping a sculpture, so take time to carve yours.
Looking forward to the conversations with filmmakers, studios and creators at IET London, Savoy Place. If you’re in London, come and help us shape the present of creativity.
Thanks to @magnific for making this possible.
The French filmmaking establishment has authored a "Manifesto" for government regulation of the French film industry. la-srf.fr/fr/actualites/mani…
"12 Commitments for French Cinema Manifesto for the 2027 Presidential Candidates"
1) Cultural sovereignty: Protect French and European culture constitutionally and keep public broadcasting independent.
2) Strategic importance: Treat French cinema as a national cultural priority.
3) Film funding: Protect the CNC’s central role in supporting cinema.
4)Creative freedom: Defend artistic freedom and independent production.
5) Release windows: Preserve the system giving theaters priority before television and streaming.
6) Workers’ security: Sustain France’s unemployment-insurance system for workers with intermittent entertainment jobs.
7) European protections: Defend Europe’s cultural policies and protections in international dealings.
8) AI regulation: Compensate rights holders for AI use of their work and label AI-generated works.
9) Media concentration: Limit excessive consolidation in media and cultural industries.
10) Film education: Make cinema and visual-media literacy a national priority.
11) Local access: Support cinemas and festivals across the country as essential cultural services.
12) Social progress: Make cinema advance social inclusion and progress.
The AI section gets a little nuts. Did they demand VFX be labeled? How about 3D animation? ALL acting is fake. Should ALL human performances be labeled as such?
"We also demand that AI-generated "works" be labeled. Viewers have the right to an authentic relationship, and to the transparency that underpins trust between the public and artists. Cinema is a profoundly human art. Letting it become a product wrung out by the tech giants' algorithms would deprive the public of what it comes to the theater for: the emotion of cinema, whose essence lies in the otherness of the human soul."

Are the French at war with AI filmmaking?
"Manifesto for a sovereign, free and unifying cinema Freedom of creation, support for independent production, supervision of artificial intelligence, image education: so many priorities to preserve our cultural model. It is a cultural, democratic and collective issue."

Genuinely one of the coolest game experiences I’ve seen ai or not
i built an infinite, self-evolving Backrooms game you can play in your browser. dimension9.space
opus 5.5 simply follows a haunting directive i wrote into the game. it drives the sentient AI that builds new rooms, characters, entities, and experiences forever. coolest part is even as the creator of this game, i don't know what to expect in there.
multiplayer with proximity chat is supported from day one so go play it with your friends.
