In 1904, Everton were beating Arsenal 3-1 but the game had to be abandoned with 10-15 mins to go because of fog.
Everton lost the replayed match 2-1, which was the second of 3 away games in 4 days. Everton lost the league title by 1 point.
Not bitter about it or anything. #EFC

When Marcia Wallace died in 2013, The Simpsons retired her character, Edna Krabappel. In the next new episode, Bart went to the chalkboard and wrote one line: “We’ll really miss you, Mrs. K.”
Wallace was 70 and had voiced Bart’s teacher since the show’s first season. The episode ended with a second tribute, this time to Wallace herself.
Months later, the show gave Edna a goodbye of her own. Ned Flanders pictured himself dancing with her, then said quietly, “I sure do miss that laugh.”

Some of the most morbid stories about Stephen King aren't in his books.
When he was about 4, King went out to play with a friend near the railroad tracks. He came home alone, speechless and in shock.
His family later learned that his friend had been hit and killed by a train. King has no memory of it.
In the 1980s, he did so much cocaine that he wrote with cotton swabs stuck up his nose to stop the bleeding. He barely remembers writing some of his books, including the 1981 classic Cujo.
Then, in 1999, while he was out for a walk in Maine, a distracted driver in a minivan hit him and threw him 14 feet into a ditch. Almost every bone on the right side of his body was broken.
While King was in the hospital, his wife bought the van so nobody could sell pieces of it as souvenirs. King planned to smash it with a sledgehammer. The van ended up in a car crusher.
The driver died a year later, on September 21, 2000. It was Stephen King's birthday.

In 1998, Sofía Vergara’s older brother was shot and killed in Colombia. Just a few years later, a doctor felt a lump in her neck during a routine checkup. She was 28 and had thyroid cancer.
Vergara was already living in Miami when her brother Rafael was killed. After his death, she brought her mother, sister and younger brother to live with her in Florida.
When tests confirmed the cancer, Vergara was raising a young son.
She went to bookstores to learn what she could about the disease, then had her thyroid removed and spent several days in hospital isolation while receiving radioactive iodine treatment.
In 2009, she began playing Gloria on Modern Family, the role that made her a household name.

Enjoying the Everton fans’ “The greatest of all, Super Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall” reworking of Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky". Everton’s in-form, roving midfielder had exactly the right reaction to the disappointment of being overlooked by Thomas Tuchel. Total professional. He went out and again demonstrated his qualities for Everton, another goal, another powerful performance. It’s the perfect reaction because a midfielder might pull out of the squad and Tuchel might need cover.
Tuchel confirmed earlier yesterday that Dewsbury-Hall was “close” to a call, “very good player, very good season, he’s a stand-out player for Everton, you see his quality. He’s a nice watch”. But Tuchel highlighted the competition. “In the way we play now, I don’t see him in central midfield in the build-up. I see him more in the finishing part of the game, as an offensive 8 or almost as a 10. The competition in our squad is very high in this position.” Worth noting that Dewsbury-Hall is certainly playing better (and more) than Eberechi Eze, who’s in the squad, good player but can't get in Arsenal starting XI. #EFC #ENG
