"The things people say are not meant to be measured on the scale of truth. They are only the signs by which one indicates which team one belongs to, like the identification ‘friend-or-foe’ signals that warplanes emit" --Herbert Stein (on Sunday talk shows)
Michigan fires offensive coordinator:
"Per the terms of his contract, Beck is set to be owed up to $10.1 million. That's nearly $7 million in salary and nearly $3.1 million in retention bonuses."
And Carter's four years was probably crucial to Reagan making it to the White House.
OLD GUY’S CAUTION: Since Watergate comparisons of ‘74 & ‘26 are widespread, it’s worth remembering that after ‘74 anti-Nixon landslide, it was simply assumed Dems would win White House in ‘76. Despite major D advantages (unelected R POTUS who pardoned Nixon and was nearly denied R nomination—& much more), Carter only beat Ford 50-48%—and Electoral College nearly tipped to Ford. Two years is two eternities (esp. with Trump), and nothing is ever guaranteed. Choose wisely, Dems.

One may imagine her late majesty, looking down from the clouds and orchestrating a little joke at the expense of those stubborn colonists who compelled her first and final attendance of an American football game.
J.J. McCarthy: 127 yds passing, 6.7 avg, 82.6 rating (and injured). Maybe a little early to conclude that the Vikings made a huge mistake in giving up on him.
If only really long home runs were worth more than just a home run.
Former #MNTwins you probably forgot about: Miguel Sanó, 3B/1B/RF (2015-2022)
1. Saints uniforms today might be the worst I've seen all year.
2. On that fumble that essentially ended the Panthers v Broncos game it's pretty funny that there weren't any flags thrown.

What if the next US president came into office with all sorts of big plans but ended up having to spend their political capital on deficit and debt reduction? Wouldn't that be wild?
I see that after another loss Deion Sanders is "not pondering his job security". If you went back four years and had a political primary like process to pick a new head coach with the choices being Sanders or Cignetti, Sanders would've won in a blowout.
Looking at the latest college football ratings I'm beyond shocked that Alabama is the top rated team with 2 losses.
Kudlow and Gingrich pretending that they haven't been peddling the message that got Republicans soundly beaten is cute.

This is a really silly post. A still picture can’t possibly prove control. The ball was still moving before the defender knocked it away. Slow-motion, let alone stills, deceive people. In bang-bang real time the ball was never secured. But yes, it’s not moving in this still shot.
Need to embrace the principles of the founders, but without invoking them all the time like the townspeople intoning Randolph Scott in Blazing Saddles. If 'the founders' are taken as inviable authorities than they're already on side.
Ron Johnson, sounding like he's read The Dispatch's post-election editorial, says Republicans "need to embrace the enduring principles of our founders, limited government.”
