Normalize knowing just because you are melanated doesn't mean you cant be Anti Black American. ​Hey @nbc @nbcuniversal @nbcchicagofire, it’s time to address why Da’Vinchi is still on Chicago Fire after his disgraceful comments on Funky Friday. ​We will not tolerate his anti-Black American rhetoric. To sit on a platform and call Black Americans "lazy" "incompetent," and tell us to "just move on" from slavery is an absolute slap in the face. We are the descendants of Freedmen, the people who built this country from the ground up, paving the way with our blood, sweat, and labor so that everyone including him, who is a melanated 🇭🇹 immigrant, could have the opportunities they enjoy today. To dismiss our struggle, ignore the systemic barriers we still fight for, and label us as lazy is both historically ignorant and deeply disrespectful. ​Keeping someone who openly devalues Foundational Black Americans on your roster is a massive liability. It tells your audience that NBC is okay with platforming anti-Blackness and historic revisionism. You cannot benefit from Black viewership while employing people who actively degrade us.​Do the right thing and remove Da’Vinchi from the show. We won’t tolerate this disrespect.
