One of those days with public transport it seems. Very rare to be this disrupted, but, every single leg of this trip to Birmingham has had some sort of delay.
On the plus side, I'm getting to check out one of @AvantiWestCoast's new 805 sets as a result 👍 – at Camden Town, London
What must a railway worker/enthusiast do when on holiday in Prague for dinner - get dinner and a pint on a train!
Even had signal priority due to an earlier signalling fault. Can't get away from these things! – at Prague, Czech Republic
Day One of the rail adventure using Interrail.
One nice orange FLIRT later and I'm standing in Valka and Valga... at the same time. Border town between Estonia and Latvia.
As a Brit, particularly post Brexit, this feels very odd. Nice swing between countries too!

@SouthernRailUK/@TLRailUK There seems to be a bug in the app or ticket restrictions next week.
Southern's App just sold me a Super Off Peak Rtn (26-30 RC) + PlusBus with the itinerary including:
OUT 07:39 BTN-ECR (TL) - which is usually a peak service.
So, having just checked again in more detail, it's currently all the "Cambridge" services which are all showing as terminating at Finsbury Park (due to ECDP works)
Fares issue also applies on Monday 19th presumably as the changes were made at the same time.
@TLRailUK So, given that the journey planner is *still* offering the super off peak itinerary for peak time Cambridge services tomorrow and Tuesday, will gateline/RP staff be permitting the usage of purchased tickets?
Look how much I learned on Duolingo in 2023! How did you do? #Duolingo365

Perhaps this could just simply be solved with a sign? You know, like most councils put in the majority of their buildings across the country.
Do you know what this “funny” green dome building is in Derby city centre and how it is used? If so, you may be in the minority because councillors in Derby say there are many people who have no idea what it’s about

"The next train to depart platform 3 will again be your rerouted 06:14 Railhead Treatment service to Tonbridge West Yard via wherever the signaller sends it for the rest of the morning."
Also featuring that thing that @Coastway_Will likes.
I spy some track works at Brighton, while I wait for my train to take me to some track a bit further north.
I'll also be changing through Gatwick, itself a site with a lot of work going on.
Lots of people out tonight in orange working hard to deliver upgrades to the network.
Short hop with @SouthernRailUK and time to start a recon walk in the lovely South Downs for a Scout hike.
Abbey Wood, all change. Made my way to the end of the Core section, taking in all the sights and stations.
The Elizabeth line has not disappointed. Will have to do this again when trains are through running, but, for now, time to go and look at some different railway!
Coal Drops and Gasholder Park was a first for me, tucked just above the approaches to Kings Cross and St Pancras.
Heritage assets used to create housing, green space, commercial for both small and large businesses and the canal path heavily used for leisure. Brilliant.
