Does @AngelaRayner realise how misleading this is?
Even if not, good journalists should have figures at hand to correct her & other Govt. ministers trying to imply UK exports to the EU have gone down since Brexit.
In fact total exports to the EU have increased since Brexit.

This Al Jazeera sting of Jack Ross and Turning Point UK is bizarre.
Ross paid a group of Glaswegian/Ulster loyalists to put on a fake rally for the Zimbabwean president. Eh?
Then he set up an undercover reporter with a loyalist hitman/hired goon he knew, and the two discussed potentially having people beaten up or killed.
Ross worked as a social media consultant for Badenoch. Another great hire...

On Thursday, a historic market cross in one of my constituency's town centres was demolished.
The cross has long been an important centrepiece of the town. I am in contact with the town council to establish how this can be resolved swiftly.

He told a 65% Leave town he'd respect Brexit, then got the job and started measuring up for Brussels. Every Brexit-backing seat should remember Makerfield.

100 days in power and the mask hasn't just slippedâit's been ripped off completely.
Andy Burnham declaring that ending EU free movement is no longer a red line for Labour is the ultimate betrayal of the working class.
While British families face record taxes and crushed services, Number 10 is quietly preparing to sign us back up to Brussels population control.
The Conservatives broke our borders through gross incompetence; Labour is selling them off by choice. Only Reform will stop this madness.
PM open to 'honest discussion' about return to EU free movement

Khan's economic justifications for rejoining the EU are based on some dodgy study he himself commissioned.
It 'finds' that the capital's "Gross Value Added" was 6.2% lower in 2019 than it was before 2016's vote, and 7.8% lower in 2021 once we secured a deal.

Flirting with remainers. Smells like electioneering.
âď¸EXCLUSIVEâď¸
Andy Burnham has opened the door to Britain rejoining the EUâs free movement rules, arguing an âhonest discussionâ about the idea is needed
The PM said the nature of immigration has been âdifferentâ since Brexit, with more foreigners moving permanently to the UK rather than returning home
Burnham noted how his father, Roy, an engineer, took advantage of the EU rules in the 1990s to work in Germany
He also said since leaving the bloc Britain has lost access to âEurodacâ, an EU database on border crossings
âI think you have to have a very factual, quite evidence-based debate about this,â he said
Burnham made clear staying out of free movement would **not** be a red line for talks (unlike adopting the Euro or rejoining the Schengen Area)
Burnham made the comments to me in one of four interviews conducted during his first 100 days in office. All unpacked in tomorrowâs Sunday Times.
Itâs big news. Free movement seen as a key reason why the country voted Brexit in 2016. No PM has made the argument for potentially rejoining since⌠until now.
(Important to note: Burnham accepts there were âvery significant challengesâ too with free movement. Hasnât reached a firm decision yes or no. He continues to mull over âoptionsâ for closer EU ties)
KEY BURNHAM QUOTE
âFreedom of movement had very significant challenges associated with it and I spoke about them in my previous time in Parliament. But, at the same time, it was a type of immigration that perhaps wasnât as difficult (as now).
âRevolving door migration where people would come and then go back is different. The balance of migration has changed, hasnât it, since then? I think weâve just got to have an honest discussion about those things.â

đ¨ BREAKING: Germany's right-wing anti-Islamic migration party just SURGED in tonight's West Germany state elections, making a SURPRISING +11 point gain
AfD has nearly DOUBLED its seats from just a few years ago
Take your country BACK from the 3rd world!
Reform are not done, as people on left and right seem to be delighting in telling you,
Apart from anything Labour seem hellbent on gifting Reform the next election with their EU policies.
It takes more than a 'sassy' Tory leader, a Fabian talking about crisps on a trash TV show, and a 'racism' expose.

It is hardly surprising that someone open to rejoining the EU would be open to free movement.
Burnham's romanticised picture of EU membership ignores the fact that we literally had no idea who was coming into the country before 2016. We were always told there were 3 million EU citizens in Britain. When we counted them we discovered there were 6 million.
Any attempt to return to free movement has to reckon with the fact that a country like Spain has legalised the status of a million plus illegal migrants since then, and with the very visible tensions and anxieties amongst EU member states on the subject.
There can be no viable policy which doesn't involve HMG having full control over who comes into this country. We aren't there at the moment, but we will need to get there in the end. Andy Burnham may not understand this now, but he will have to do so eventually.

No "we" didn't
The scumbag political class did especially the Tories
I've got a new idea
Let's have no migration
One of the great ironies of Brexit is that we replaced freedom of movement with a worse migration system: higher-volume, lower-quality migration from countries that are often far more culturally different.
Young Europeans often came here for a few years to work, study and contribute, then went home. Instead, under @pritipatel and @SuellaBraverman, we massively increased migration from developing countries, where migrants are more likely to settle permanently and, on average, contribute less economically than culturally similar EU migrants.
That was not taking back control. It was swapping one migration system for a worse one.
Iâm a Brexiteer and I donât think we need to restore full freedom of movement. But I would absolutely support much greater reciprocal mobility between Britain and Europe, perhaps on an Australia-style model, in return for better trading terms with the EU and deeper security cooperation.

Now he wants an âhonestâ discussion. He simply cannot be trusted. Starmer 2.0.
