Albertans chose to work within Canada. The message to the Premier: do what you said, and we'll help you pursue Alberta sovereignty within a united Canada. #Alberta #AlbertaSovereignty #UnitedCanada #AlbertaPolitics

It’s time to formally let you all know that I’m running for Central Director on the United Conservative Party Provincial Board!
Why, you ask? Now that the October 19 referendum is behind us, we have two choices: move forward by finding alignments with each other’s positions on Alberta’s future, or we don’t. We build, or we don’t. We get involved and make a difference, or we don’t.
I choose to get involved.
The board doesn’t run the government. It runs the party, under the bylaws and governance members created. I want a party where those rules are respected, where nobody gets pushed out for how they voted, and where members can see what their board is doing. Members on every side of the referendum deserve a voice at that table.
Check out my website at chrisforcentral.com/ for more details. You can take a survey to tell me what you expect from your board, AND you can access a training module we built to help you understand how the UCP works, what the board does and what the governance documents look like.
I believe education, not only on the issues but on the mechanics of civics, is what we need to start making real changes in the world around us. This is our way of getting that conversation going.
Remember, you must have your UCP membership by Friday, November 6 at 11:59 pm to vote at the AGM, and you need an AGM ticket. Board voting happens on Saturday, November 28 at the BMO Centre in Calgary.
See you there :)

A direct question to viewers: will Danielle Smith follow through on improving Alberta sovereignty within a united Canada? Yes or no? #Alberta #AlbertaPolitics #DanielleSmith #AlbertaSovereignty
Kind of sobering, isn't it?
Alberta's 2023 contributions exceeded benefits by ~$4.6B, so a standalone plan could cover payouts and invest the surplus even without any asset transfer. Alberta's share of CPP assets is disputed: the province's report claims ~53%, while independent analyses (including the Chief Actuary) estimate 20-25%.
A big issue to talk about now is an Alberta Pension Plan. Not only would it be a major way that Alberta can maximize its sovereignty within Canada, but it would mean a DRAMATIC difference in our take home pay AND benefits to seniors.
What else do you want to talk about?
The Western Standard's Derek Fildebrandt interviewed Premier Danielle Smith on Friday October 23.
In this clip the Premier states that she believes an Alberta Pension Plan would have failed on the recent referendum ballot.
"Someone needs to be out there making a case for why it is that we would be better off with an Alberta Pension Plan."
She erroneously credits Alberta Prosperity Project for this effort, when it was actually @ABfirstpension who hit the road and held informative town halls in an effort to inform the public about the incredible benefits an Alberta Pension Plan would bring to our province.
Why did these town halls stop happening? Lack of funding! It was 100% a volunteer effort.
Maybe the government should take some responsibility to do more of that educating?
Why wouldn't every worker and employer in Alberta NOT want to keep more of their hard earned money?
Just a thought.

I challenged Albertans to change my mind. I held town halls to discuss this issue, I listened and I heard the other side. Considerable time has been spent learning as much as I can and my opinion "Alberta Independence is Necessarry and Inevitable," has survived some really hostile scrutiny. The numbers? I used numbers presented by a FEDERALIST option 1 voting economist- and my argument survived. Politicians? They're all against me (so I know I'm on the right side!)
And most of all, the vile, evil marxist people who promote option one AND activley campaign to bring Communism into Alberta hate me so much that they send me death threats.
I will live my life to be hated by the enemies of FREEDOM.
I will vote YES to the 9 fruit salad questions, and OPTION 2 to start the process towards a legally binding referendum on Alberta Sovereignty.
Please choose your own adventure responsibly- you cannot turn the page back and choose another option if you don't like the outcome of your choice this time. (That was a reference to the Choose Your Own Adventure books. Yes, I'm that old.)

(The additional picture says more about the federalist position than I ever could.)
It was a blustery afternoon, but that didn't deter several thousand supporters of Alberta!
It was great to be there and part of this historic day.
Rally start time in Edmonton at the Ledge has been delayed to 4pm. Some roads blocked off; be safe and patient.
Our event in Springbrook was a great success! There was good discussion had about the referendum and independence issues from a supportive and non supportive point of view.
It's exactly the type of opportunity that Let's Talk Alberta was created to foster. 👏👏👏
Here is the @fcalendardotnet livestream link for our special Fireside Chat event in Springbrook tonight.
Please share it around!

It appears CERTAIN staff at Elections Alberta in #GP have been arbitrarily disqualifying people who are affiliated with a political party. And doing it while shortstaffed for the ballot counting. There are no restrictions for scrutineers (see pic). They are claiming it's under "the oath" but read below and send an email. FAST.
You're telling me that none of the elections Alberta staff are affiliated with any political party?
May want to send an email for clarification. Copy/paste below.
Hurry, time is running out.
Nothing changes, if nothing changes.

Elections Alberta — Office of the Chief Electoral Officer and applicable RETURNING OFFICERS ONLY.
Any and all election clerks are to forward this to the RETURNING OFFICER Immediately. I will not accept a generic response from an Elections Clerk.
I am writing to raise a concern regarding reports that individuals are being disqualified from working as election officers in the October 2026 Alberta referendum solely because they hold membership in a registered political party.
Elections Alberta’s published eligibility requirements under the Election Act do not identify ordinary political-party membership as an automatic disqualification.
Furthermore, Elections Alberta’s own hiring principles state:
“Applicants must not be affiliated with, or be perceived as affiliated with, any partisan organization or individual, if that affiliation compromises their ability to be, or be seen as, non-partisan in their community.”
The operative wording is “if that affiliation compromises their ability”.
This establishes a conditional standard, not an automatic prohibition against political-party membership.
Elections Alberta’s official employment application also requires applicants to attest that they will remain impartial and non-partisan throughout their appointment.
These requirements distinguish between holding a political affiliation and engaging in partisan conduct while serving as an election officer.
If Elections Alberta is automatically rejecting every applicant who holds membership in a political party, without considering whether that membership compromises their ability to perform their duties impartially, such a practice appears inconsistent with its published hiring principles.
I am therefore requesting written clarification of the following:
Is membership in a registered political party, by itself, sufficient grounds for automatic disqualification?
If so, what specific provision of the Election Act, regulation, or Elections Alberta policy authorizes this blanket exclusion?
If the published hiring principles require an assessment of whether an affiliation compromises impartiality, why would ordinary party membership alone be treated as conclusive evidence of such a compromise?
Are Returning Officers being instructed to automatically reject applicants who disclose political-party membership?
Given that advance voting is already underway and election officers are being recruited for the October 19 referendum, I request an expedited written response.
The distinction between political affiliation and impartial performance of public duties is important. Elections Alberta’s hiring decisions should reflect its published eligibility requirements and apply those standards consistently.
Thank you.
