An important takeaway from BC election #'s. Voter turnout was awful & sucked for CPBC too. @Conservative_BC & @LDoerkson shouldn't fool themselves into thinking they won big or energized anybody. What happened was NDP voters were SO demoralized by their own awful, opportunistic worm of a leader they didn't bother to show...If CPBC want to 'energize' the base for the 2030 election against a (likely far superior) NDP leader, they need to actually make ambitious policy reforms & give voters a reason to show up.
New poll from ResearchCo: NDP voters stayed home in mass numbers this election. @Conservative_BC won with 49K fewer votes than in 2024 election vs 273,000 fewer votes for @bcndp. Exit polls indicate @LDoerkson was a deciding factor in ppl choosing to vote Conservative. @mario_canseco researchco.ca/2026/10/26/bc-…

How the B.C. NDP created a human rights regime to advance their ideological goals and why there is ample precedent for dismantling it today in @WDiminishment Political and social groups champion ideas and values that align with their goals and act as tools to gain or maintain power. Nowhere is this more evident than in the B.C. NDP’s dogged commitment to the B.C. human rights regime. How comfortable are British Columbians with consolidating adjudicative power, backed by substantial monetary penalties, in the hands of a few unelected bureaucrats? This question demands an answer when considering our human rights regime. Abolishing the Human Rights Tribunal and the Office of the Human Rights Commissioner would not be unprecedented in our province’s history, and the suggestion that these actions be taken should not be treated as something beyond possibility. open.substack.com/pub/withou…

Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream is now a toss up between OneBC’s Alexandra Wright and the BC Khalistan Party’s Pavneet Singh! Vote Alexander’s if you love freedom, prosperity and hiring Canadians citizens. Don’t worry about Pavneet, he has a $39/hr job at Pita Pit to fall back on.

I think end result will look similar to the dramatic one below; with Greens at 3+ seats, at the rate things are collapsing for @Dave_Eby ....I can't imagine what stops this train. We'll definitely have to coin some kind of "pulling an Eby" vocab term here. THEN we'll see if the BCCons can keep from splitting to the right.
BC update: Conservatives tick up to 57 seats, NDP down to 34. The Greens are also getting a nice bump in the polls. No third seat yet — but their two projected wins are looking increasingly safe. 2 days to go. vote-scope.com/en/canada/bri…

When you have unofficial public policy positions that housing prices are never allowed to go down and seniors’ entitlements are never allowed to be reformed you’re basically just buying time until the whole thing goes up in flames.

I bet you this scenerio is shockingly common. Happening alllll the time. Abolish HR and hiring funnels. Make HR and hiring a secondary role for managers, as it was always meant to be.

Regardless of how you feel about immigration, something isn't adding up. Canada has massive true unemployment. Poverty is rising. Healthcare is dying. The people being brought in are disproportionately not doctors and engineers (I fully support importing qualified talent). Voters don't want this. There's an underlying problem here no one is willing to talk about. Our country is built as a Ponzi scheme. The government must import new people to pay into the scam so that they can pay out the old investors so that the whole thing doesn't come crashing down. The problem is that every Ponzi scheme crashes eventually. And the longer it goes on, the worse the crash is going to be.
Immigration levels in Canada are set to rise again. @LenaMetlegeDiab signalled a forthcoming boost to new arrivals after population growth hit its lowest rate since WWII, CTV News reports. (1/4) 🧵👇

Replying to @callistaryan
Umm is there a discrepancy here Callista? RU 100% sure this is him? I ask because: @deathnight771 on the right hand side is not the same as @deathnight77 on the left + profile pic of the only one of these accounts to exist (deathnight77) does not have the same pic as one on right.

We simply cannot end mass immigration. Two thirds of fast food restaurants would close. Trucking would get much safer. Companies would be forced to hire Canadian workers at decent wages. Housing would become affordable. And worst of all, communities would grow closer again. No.

They paused immigration for a year. Sort of. Permanent residents continued to be added at the rate of almost 400k/yr, 1% of Canada's population, every year. Housing market is still a shitshow, health care is still a shitshow, the economy is falling apart. But nothing is more important than white replacement, comrades.
JUST IN: 🇨🇦 Canadian Prime Minister Carney says he plans to increase immigration into Canada.

If you gave every municipal police department in Canada the ability to permanently detain 100 of their worst offenders, we would enter a golden age so dramatic that for years afterwards we would demarcate the current era by this one action.
This prolific offender also used to masturbate in the children's area of Harbourfront Library in downtown Nanaimo wearing women's lingerie. Staff had to deal with it. He is a major problem and risk.

Great work here by Bryan. Probably the best per-riding model on the BC election that factors in candidates not running. If 48-44-2 is how it ends in favor of @Conservative_BC I wouldn't be shocked...then we'll see if the party can keep its right wing from splintering off.
Simulator updated with the correct candidates in each riding I'm pretty sure there are mistakes here and there though tooclosetocall.ca/p/bc-2026-…

If we're ever to turn BC around, we're gonna need more MLAs with the courage to directly talk about 'sensitive' issues & not give a damn what the party line on it is. Truly lost a champion in Tara for that. DO follow her on X; if only as a terrific BC-centric moral compass.
Tara, serving alongside you has been one of the clearest privileges of my time in public life. You named the fights others avoided. Halt mass immigration. Make foreign residents pay toward the healthcare they use. Close drug consumption sites. End the HRT. Stop schools from socially transitioning children behind their parents’ backs. Demand accountability for the harms of experimental drugs. Stop the quiet transfer of private land under aboriginal title claims. And as you say, the fiercest resistance did not come from the NDP. It came from inside the BC Conservative Party. The state has grown into a leviathan that eats away at the well-being of the people it claims to serve. Consultants, HR departments, socialist unions, and the reconciliation industry are strangling this province. Government and government-adjacent activity now consume an unsustainable share of our economy. We have more and more takers and fewer makers, and the establishment has no intention of reversing it. Defeating the leviathan will require a sustained attack on parasitic groups that have taken over British Columbia. Mass immigration has flooded British Columbia with cheap labour, strained hospitals and schools, and driven housing further out of reach. It has also imported foreign nationals tied to transnational gangs that are now extorting and shooting on our streets. None of this serves the people who already live here. Most chose to stay quiet and leave the difficult issues untouched. You did not. No slogan fixes this province. It will take courage, and the willingness to be hated for saying what is true. Thank you for the trust, the hours, and the refusal to look away. British Columbia is better for the fights you took on. Onwards.

Permanent resident intake still *insanely* high. (2015 figures were ~270K, now 368K). After Statscan corrected itself, turns out the 🇨🇦 population didn't even shrink; it rose 100K. Mass immigration continues. @PierrePoilievre mum. Lib supporters delusional that immigration is "back under control". @MaximeBernier posting about immigration lots again.
Immigration into Canada in 2026: - Deportations are down from 2025 - Population growth is up from 2025 - Population growth slowed as a percentage to the smallest increase in over 100 years - The non-permanent resident population is 2.7 million, 6.7% of the national population - Non-permanent resident population declined by 154,614 - International student population declined by 140,827 - Permanent resident intake for July '25 - July '26 was 368,224

As usual, leave it to the Justice Centre to publish the best piece on this most sacred of Canadian holidays.
On "Truth and Reconciliation Day," John Carpay argues that genuine reconciliation demands equal rights for all, special privileges for none. He calls for repealing the Indian Act, ending race-based access to public land and sentencing rules, and rejecting compulsory land acknowledgements. The underlying message is clear: laws that divide Canadians by ancestry stand in the way of reconciliation. westernstandard.news/opinion…
