Since Fr. Ripperger was silenced, we have a moral obligation to help spread his message. Here, Shawn asks, “What about the Third Temple?” Fr. Ripperger explains that, according to the Church Fathers, the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem will never be rebuilt. He gives three reasons: Julian the Apostate attempted to rebuild the Temple, but the effort was thwarted. Christ brought the Jewish sacrificial system to its fulfillment. Fr. Ripperger explains that the sacrifices prefigured Christ and that God gave the Jewish people one generation to convert. The Levitical priesthood was disrupted, making it impossible to establish the original priestly system as it existed under the Old Covenant. He also argues that some Protestants misinterpret the Book of Daniel’s “abomination of desolation.” Some even want to help rebuild the Temple so that the Antichrist can take his seat there and Christ will return. Fr. Ripperger considers this a serious mistake: “Just getting through the years of the Antichrist is going to be brutal, so I wouldn’t be pushing that.” Fr. Ripperger was VERY effective in spreading the Catholic faith and challenging these interpretations. That is precisely why his message deserves to be heard, not silenced.
