The hardest part? You have to keep believing in a future you cannot yet see, while living through a present that doesn't always make sense.

1. The DA wants to abolish minimum wage! That alone will plunge majority of working black South Africans who are already struggling into extreme poverty. 2. The DA government in the Western Cape has also been known to return funds budgeted for providing housing to Treasury instead of providing housing for black and coloured people. 3. The DA in the WC intends to build a wall to keep people in the township away from the Metro. 4. Not to mention that the Constitutional Court found the DA guilty of apartheid era spatial planning.
Thinking the DA will bring back apartheid is a sign of low IQ

To South Africans fighting on the frontline against efforts to divide and conquer our country, I salute you. We will not give in to misinformation, disinformation, ignorance or prop-agenda. We see the Bell Pottinger pattern. Our movement is growing. You can't fool us, you can't buy us. We are too many. Ubuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu. #CountryDuty

You can change your mind. Even after announcing your plans to the entire world. Announcing a plan doesn't lock you into a life contract. You are allowed to outgrow your own public announcements, change direction, and walk away.

Congrats to America, from the South African woman who took Israel to the ICJ for genocide. South Africa is the moral heavyweight of the world 🇿🇦

Also we need to note that the IEC is working with a reduced budget. We should be fighting for them to get more funding so they have more staff and things that they need but more importantly it means we as citizens need to do our bit even more i.e. checking your details.
We are not mollycoddling the wilfully dumb. You had ample opportunity to check, change and double-check your voting station. Wena, you chose vibes over verification. Now you’ve arrived, armed with confusion and audacity, demanding accountability from the IEC for your idiocy. 🤣

Voter illiteracy is a big problem among communities of colour in this country and it shows.

Let’s hope the IEC starts 2029 voter education campaigns as soon as now. This thing of buying ad space reminding people to vote but not educating them is a problem that needs to be addressed.

include the importance of elections in LO textbooks please😭😭😭. running at a loss of first time voters when the kids are meant to be excited about making a change is sad to watch.

I love SA, our people, and our constitution. Beyond the elections, my ultimate hope is positive change for ALL South Africans. We all deserve good governance and policing, access to opportunities, and our basic needs met consistently. 🇿🇦

Having spent the last few months campaigning in townships, it’s literally just that people don’t see the point in voting. They are despondent about the state of affairs and until their material conditions change, we’re going to experience an even further decline in turnout.
Replying to @baddaysareover
AND it seems like voter turnout was low in townships as well. The reality is that we need to get our people to care about voting & maybe do better to understand why they’re not voting. Is transportation an issue? Are people not getting time off from work?
