For those who don’t know already, I have an ongoing series called “Checkmate, Atun-Shei,” which is where I analyze his videos, criticize them, and make some jokes at his expense. If you want to watch, here’s a playlist of the series.

Their video essay format created a new means of spreading outright lies, which they - themselves - demonstrated.
I hope that, in 50 years, RLM will be discussed in the same way Yellow Journalists and muck rackers are discussed; as a purely bad influence for public discourse.

RLM practically invented the modern video essay with its star wars and star trek reviews. They're detailed, exhaustive and address every conceivable talking point. The ROTS acts as a total summation of what went wrong here and why these films don't work as intended.
The difference between you and I is I did not live in a bubble with a bunch of other nerds. Instead, I lived with a fairly normal family filled with well-rounded individuals.
None of them hated the prequels. They either didn’t care or liked them.
THAT was the general opinion.

So you weren’t around for the sentiment, but you have a better read on the sentiment than the people who were actually there?
I can’t tell if you’re trolling.
I dare anyone who criticizes the acting in the Prequels to watch any opera - Italian or otherwise - and observe the performance of the actors.
To most, it’s going to look goofy, stilted, and awkward, but that isn’t a flaw. That’s deliberate.
The Prequels are good films because they tell a cohesive story; that of Anakin’s fall.
The pacing the good, the score is fantastic, the visuals are good, and the acting is Shakespearean. The plot, as well, has more substance than the OT.
Most hate against it is preferential.
In fact, the “Shakespearean” part is quite literal as many of the established actors cut their teeth performing Shakespeare.
Lucas likely preferred that because it captures the style of acting he wanted; that of the silent film era.

I'm astounished by the levels of your retardation outside of military affairs
Nerds: “How dare George add a 50’s diner into a franchise with space wizards and cowboys riding ships that travel faster than light?! George Lucas sodomized my childhood!!!!!11!!!1!1!!”
George Lucas:

What’s ironic about sharing this is most of these criticisms were addressed in the film with only one of them being an actual flaw (the question of Obi-Wan’s training).
Yet, even then, this is not criticism of the Prequels, but criticism of the critics, which was commonplace.

Red Letter Media is the origin of everything wrong with online discourse.
From film review channels to Historytube slop, they can trace their origins back to Mr. Plinkett’s Episode I review; right down to ignoring the source material they are seeking to criticize.
I keep on hearing people say “the Prequels are bad,” yet no one can actually explain why or how they are bad.
It almost always boils down to personal preference. Rarely does anyone point to an objective flaw with the film that diminishes them in some capacity.

I’m 31; I was there when all of the Prequel hate became mainstream between 2008-2012.
The arguments are all the same thing: subjective opinions with no substance, yet - to those not willing to think - they sound convincing enough.
Jesus wants for you to stop being transgender.
He loves you as the boy or girl you were born as and is worried about your health and well-being.
Do I hate Lincoln, the man? No.
Do I hate Lincoln, the politician? Yes.
He was a politician with a notorious reputation for being two-faced. Many of his political decisions were absolutely terrible.
Yet, as a man, I cannot hate him.
The Catholic Church aided thousands of wounded men during the American Civil War.
Hundreds of nuns volunteered their services to bring comfort to the sick, the wounded, and the dying.
Their good deeds are remembered by all Christians; Protestant and Catholic alike.

I can almost always tell someone has never watched “Gods and Generals” because they will say something stupid like “It’s Confederate Propaganda.”
Watching the charge of the Irish Brigade in the film refutes this quite handily.

The only correct answer is gods and generals.
And before you ask, no, i'm not rewatching that 5 hour long piece of dogshit.
I'll rather watch the lord of the rings, for at least, the charaters aren't planks of wood.
