respectfully, it's obvious that it's extremely widespread and has poisoned most of the game industry
there are lots of well meaning people out there, but companies have allowed too many developers to openly talk shit about their customers and it's obvious that their misanderist believes poisons the well.
Why would a company allow their employees to openly post about hating men? It's not unreasonable to say "stop openly hating on our customers?" They act like entitled children too when they lose their jobs? games journalism is a joke right now. there's no respect for it. it's gotten so rediculous that it's difficult to parody
i'm not gonna go through the labor of providing a bunch of examples but it's been proven that companies that keep their heads down and just make good games more often succeed. almost all these failed companies have employees with embarassingly terrible public crash outs. Companies like Nintendo and From Soft can't stop succeeding because their employees are skillful, put perfection and fun over politics, and have employees that publicly behave
the company culture informs the quality. bioware in the last decade and a half has produced increasingly worse games, with less features, and nastier and more predatory practices
i'm glad they closed

lol nah. I was going through my Game of Thrones phase at the time
pretty sure I watched all of ProJareds videos too
this was a few years ago
Texas to Ohio once. 16 hour drive
Honestly, it wasn't so bad. I started really early in the morning, put on an audio book, a few podcasts, and I treated it like a meditation and media day
My American friend in Tokyo asked how far I drive to see my parents.
"Two hours," I said.
"Oh nice. So they live close."
Close??
In Japan, two hours is a trip.
We stop at a rest area. We buy souvenirs. We text the family "we made it."
Tokyo to Osaka is about 6 hours by car.
Japanese people talk about that drive like it was the Oregon Trail.
Then he casually mentioned he once drove 14 hours. For a wedding. And drove back the next day.
So I need to hear this from more of you.
What's the longest drive you've ever done in one go?
From where to where? 🚗
(Texans: "Texas to Texas" counts.)
Had a great time playing last night! this game has only gotten better with age! My family is hooked and we wanna play again!
looking to trade or buy the underdark, castle, road sets, or any expansions I don't have! maybe i'll make a spread sheet! feel free to respond or DM me!
It's been nearly 20 years since I last played :)
finally had an evening to set up a board. I used most of my pieces. couldn't think of a good use for the GI Joe acid tiles tho
I call in the Abbey of the Wellspring
Just finished the latest Helluvaboss episodes. Honestly, the season is looking really promising!
I thought episode 3 would be tasteless but it's shockingly well presented and even researched
bravo
This was an unnecessary crash out. I got emotional here and lashed out without reason. I stand by the spirit of what I said:
"the people making this political are outside the fandom"
what's more accurate to say "they made it political first and continue to harass people who just want to have fun"
I did exactly the same thing when I responded to OPs post, and I deserve the criticism I got. I apologise for lashing out
Fem!Malfoy...you've already exposed yourself as someone who actually knows nothing about the situation
Everyone in the world is "familiar with Harry Potter". It was a worldwide hit that was as important to modern culture as World of Warcraft or Game of Thrones.
The people making this political are the people who have chosen to remove themselves from the fandom. Those same people have harassed, threatened, and browbeat the author into being their political opponent when she was their biggest supporter for decades. They completely radicalised her by their own behavior
Malfoid is a response to the last decade and a half of the most insane people on the internet making everyones lives miserable. Compound that with the male loneliness epidemic as well as about 13 other factors and we're experiencing a massive cultural shift as people just want to have fun and feel hope again
You're not better than anyone else because you want politics removed from your fandom. It's something gamers, nerds, and comic fans have been screaming about since 2016 (i'd argue as far back as 2008). Be silent and enjoy the ride if you can't be bothered to learn why people you don't agree with are so passionate about this

One of my favourite Harry Potter loopholes doesn't even involve magic. It involves exploiting the Muggle economy.
Hagrid tells us there are 17 Sickles to a Galleon. Sickles are silver, Galleons are gold. Simple enough.
Except gold and silver don't have a fixed exchange rate in the Muggle world. Their market value fluctuates constantly. Before 1900, the gold-to-silver ratio averaged around 16:1, which is pretty close to the wizarding world's 17:1 rate. Throughout much of the twentieth century, however, it averaged around 45:1.
See where this is going?
Wait until the market heavily favours gold. Melt your Galleons down and sell the gold in the Muggle world. Use the money to buy as much silver as possible, then take that silver to Gringotts and have it converted into Sickles.
Finally, exchange those Sickles for Galleons at the fixed 17:1 rate.
Congratulations. You've potentially turned a small pile of wizarding gold into a much larger pile of wizarding gold, simply by exploiting the difference between Muggle market prices and Gringotts' fixed exchange rate.
No Dark Arts. No Horcruxes. No elaborate schemes.
Just precious metals, a fixed exchange rate and a wizard who understands arbitrage.
The real question is why nobody in the wizarding world seems to have built an entire financial empire around this.

to clarify for those who didn't see, I misunderstood was @Magus_Max1 was saying and I made a nasty response they didn't deserve. I deleted that post
I stand by what I said in the root post. I want things to return to normal. remove politics from our fandoms

I apologise for being acidic in my previous post. I fully agree with you

I miss the times when we could just enjoy things and we could have normal discussions
I think it will return soon. I'm friends with lots of people on the left as well and we're all sick of the culture war. However, I think it will be going on for the next 9 years or so

you already invoked the "we are not the same" meme
