My favorite quote about fatherhood: “My father used to play with my brother and me in the yard. Mother would come out and say, ‘You’re tearing up the grass.’ ‘We’re not raising grass,’ Dad would reply. ‘We’re raising sons.’” – Harmon Killebrew

On trial for his life, Socrates refused to buy his freedom with silence. His reason: "the unexamined life is not worth living." Plato, Apology 38a What did I do well today? What did I dodge? What do I fix tomorrow?

"The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way." — Marcus Aurelius The hard thing in front of you isn't a detour from your real life. How you carry yourself through that obstacle is what shapes who you become.

Hold to the people who stay in your sky—your spouse, your family, and the few true friends who tell you the truth and stand by you in the dark. Be that steady star for the next generation after you're gone.

This is the highest level of calligraphy mastery. The tips move like they are dancing. One hand. Two brushes. Chinese calligraphy has always been an art of energy and balance.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is donating an additional $65 million to the global initiative to care for women and children. The open house has begun for the Phnom Penh Cambodia Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is Cambodia’s first house of the Lord. Ground has been broken for the Naga Philippines Temple. Elder Steven D. Shumway of the Philippines Area presidency said this house of the Lord will be a place of peace and sacredness. A new Primary general presidency began serving this month. In a new video, President Rosemary K. Chibota, Sister Nina M. Garfield and Sister Theresa A. Collins say they are excited to serve children, parents and teachers around the world. After a 7.4 magnitude earthquake in Colombia earlier this week, the Church’s South America Northwest Area presidency released a statement expressing love and solidarity.
