CBO weighs in on Senate R farm bill: The permanent future SNAP cut exceeds the cost of a 1-year cost shift delay & other investments, so there's an overall cut to nutrition programs. But billions in un-offset spending in other titles means the bill as a whole adds to the deficit.

Russell Brand’s trial is devastating. Testimony describes him as a rabid animal, demanding sex every few hours from whoever happened to be around, and taking it regardless of consent
Brand’s defense is that women knew he was a degenerate maniac, so they should have expected it by being in a room with him (several allege he attacked them in public and tried to drag them into bathroom stalls)
This is separate from FIVE disturbing allegations in Channel 4 Dispatches. Brand has zero regard for women as human beings - I can’t even imagine how many victims there truly are
Blows my mind that so many people peddle his lunacy portraying him as a truth-telling martyr being smeared by the establishment - and buy his newfound religious hucksterism
Makes sense he’s leapt into the movement of sexual offenders and pedophiles, where he belongs (other than prison)

RFKs racist rant against Arabs was despicable. It was personally offensive since Alex Azar and myself —both Arab Americans —were his predecessors. I am proud of my Arab heritage. He is a bigot and a racist.

It cannot be overstated how much red tape Republicans added to the process of getting Medicaid and SNAP.
Millions of people who literally qualify for these programs are being kicked off them, despite qualifying, because of all the red tape Grassley voted to add to them.

This USDA spokesperson is correct that the number of individuals receiving SNAP benefits is constantly changing. The problem is that for over a year that number has been changing in one direction & one direction only — down — while economic conditions haven't improved.

ALT “The number of individuals receiving benefits is constantly changing and is not representative of any one policy,” a department spokesperson said in a statement, adding that “multiple states saw declines far before the enactment of H.R. 1.” The spokesperson said households can leave SNAP after recertification because of a job or other changes in circumstances.
The number of people enrolled for federal food assistance has decreased by 13% since Republicans overhauled the program last July, to what one analysis says is the lowest number since 2009. washingtonsun.com/agencies/s…

“In late spring 2020, a source I knew to be reliable called me with a story,” writes Matthew Cole. “The Dutch government had hacked into Jared Kushner’s phone and monitored him as he accessed a Dubai-based bank account. What was odd, the source said, was that the money in the account—hundreds of millions of dollars—had come from a bank in Azerbaijan. Most importantly, Kushner appeared to have transferred significant amounts of money from the Dubai account to other individuals, including a warlord, a mercenary and a one-time hit man. The story sounded preposterous, I told my source. And yet.
Six months later, I found myself speaking with someone else about the UAE government and their use of mercenaries in conflicts around the Middle East and Africa when I asked, on a whim, whether they knew anything about Kushner and bank transfers from a UAE account. My acquaintance grew quiet. Then they replied, ‘Yes.’” Kushner’s lawyer denied the bank account existed.
