To drive your Uber or bring your Instacart delivery, Priscila Barbosa had to be, well, you. (so did 100's of her customers.)

When discussing the Great Highway in San Francisco, it’s important to understand these points:
1. What’s already been decided?
2. What’s proposed for the future?
3. What’s staying the same?
Watch this short video or read a longer explanation here: engardio.com/blog/great-high…
WHAT’S ALREADY BEEN DECIDED
Both directions of the Great Highway south of Sloat are set to close due to coastal erosion. This has already been legislated. That means we will never again be able to use the Great Highway as a direct connection to Daly City and the 280. Traffic from Daly City will have to use Skyline and go around the zoo. Traffic from San Francisco will need to turn left at Sloat and continue south past Lake Merced.
WHAT’S PROPOSED FOR THE FUTURE
Without a direct connection to Daly City, we have to think about what is the best use of the section between Lincoln and Sloat. This is an opportunity to reimagine the space for the next century as an oceanside park. This includes improving traffic flow on Lincoln and Sunset Boulevard to get people where they need to go.
WHAT’S STAYING THE SAME
The Great Highway will remain open to cars 24/7 from the Richmond neighborhoods to Lincoln allowing full access to the Cliff House, Beach Chalet, soccer fields, the Ocean Beach parking lot, and anywhere in the Sunset from Lincoln.

Still remember you walking into Mission Local and thinking that you must be 16 and then having such fun watching you do a bang up job. Congrats and enjoy! So nice to run into you in BART as you headed to the ceremony.
Some ✨ personal news ✨:
I've officially graduated from Stanford with a B.A. in Philosophy with honors (and effectively a double major in student journalism).
I'm headed back to NYC to continue my fellowship @nytimes. Excited for what's to come!
I think this is the 3rd or 4th slam on van Zweden’s exit from NY and it is irritating, saying the same thing the NYT has been saying for months. Jeez. Give the guy a break and find something else in the musical world to write about. nytimes.com/2024/06/07/arts/…

During #theBlitz crowds of people sought refuge in London’s Underground stations to escape the nightly bombardments by the German Air Force.
The sculptor #HenryMoore (1898 – 1986) documented these scenes in hundreds of haunting sketches known as the #ShelterDrawings.

Felicitaciones!
I'm very excited about this new project. @PatriciaPuentes and I have just launched a podcast where we talk about the places you can see in the movies and tell you what you can visit, what you cannot, what was recreated for the movie, and what is 100% fake. In Spanish!
Yes, such a good piece. Incredible how consistently we are on camera and yet the limits of such detail. Another very smart piece by Smiley. @MLNow @EskSF

Michael Farris’s views on public schools (he called them a “godless monstrosity”) were once seen as so radical that they helped tank his 1993 run for lieut gov of Virginia.
Now, his ideas are at the center of GOP politics. washingtonpost.com/education…
