TO THE EAST: A flash flood emergency has been issued for McCaysville GA and Copperhill, Tennessee.
Widespread significant flooding is ongoing with homes and business under water and being evacuated due to runoff along the Ocoee from extreme heavy rainfall in North Georgia. Flash flooding is ongoing.
From the NWS warning: "This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!"

Copperhill, Tennessee, this is catastrophic and it's happening right now. The Ocoee River just hit major flood stage, only 3 feet from its all time peak, with homes and businesses underwater and being evacuated. If you're anywhere near that river, get to higher ground immediately and do not drive into water.

Three months after her wedding, a 29-year-old nurse was found beaten and shot inside her Los Angeles home. Police called it a burglary gone wrong, and the case went cold. The killer had bitten her on the arm, and the swab from that bite sat in a coroner’s freezer for 23 years. All that time, the killer was working inside the same police department, as a detective. She was the husband’s ex-girlfriend.
In the video below, LAPD detective Stephanie Lazarus walks into an interview room in 2009, believing she’s there to help two colleagues with an art theft case. She leans back, chats, smiles. Then they start asking about a woman named Sherri Rasmussen.
You can watch the exact moment she realizes. “Now it almost sounds like you’re trying to pin something on me,” she says. They ask for a DNA swab. “Maybe… now I’m thinking I probably need to talk to a lawyer.” Then, almost laughing: “We had a fight and so I went and killed her? I mean, come on.”
What she didn’t know: weeks earlier, undercover officers had followed her into a Costco, waited for her to throw away a cup, and sent it to the lab. Her DNA matched the bite mark.
She thanks them for their time and gets up to leave. Then the door closes again. “Stephanie, you have the right to remain silent.” She sits there, shaking her head: “I’m totally in shock.”
In 2012, a jury convicted her of first-degree murder, and she got 27 years to life. In 2023, at a parole hearing, she finally admitted she did it. The board recommended her release. It was overturned a year later.
She spent 23 years putting killers in prison while hiding her own murder. Should she ever walk free?

HE GAVE A TELEVISION INTERVIEW ABOUT THE DISAPPEARANCE OF THE WOMAN HE HAD K!LLED, BUT THE SHOCK ON HIS FACE WHEN HE WAS TOLD HER B°DY PARTS HAD BEEN FOUND WAS UNFORGETTABLE.
Stephen McDaniel was a 26-year-old law student living in Macon, Georgia, when his neighbour, 27-year-old Lauren Giddings, disappeared in June 2011.
The case became particularly disturbing because McDaniel was interviewed by reporters shortly after Lauren disappeared, publicly discussing his missing neighbour and appearing concerned. During the interview, he appeared visibly shocked when told that police had discovered a b°dy near their apartment building.
Lauren's rema!ns were discovered in a rubbish bin near the apartment complex. Investigators eventually linked McDaniel to the crime, and he pleaded guilty to her murd£r in April 2014, receiving a life sentence.
Lauren's he☆d and l!mbs have never been recovered.
