Apparently Steven Miller had his kids dressed as a Russian tank officer and in Russian folk dress for Halloween.
I mean my kid is also going as something disturbing but this is weird.
Darlin Graham is honoring her brother’s legacy by BACKING imports of sanctioned Russian diesel.
SOUTH CAROLINA’S SENATE RACE
Darlin Graham is running for her late brother Lindsey Graham’s seat. She had taken a broadly pro-Ukraine position, but has now backed Trump’s deal with Russia to bring 300,000 tonnes of diesel onto US and global markets. Her defence: the deal gives Trump economic power to end the war, if he chooses to use it. That “if” is doing a lot of work while Russian fuel is being offered a route to market.
THE REPUBLICAN BREAK
Two former governors have jointly endorsed her Democratic opponent, Annie Andrews. One is a Republican who argues that Trump is destroying his party and dividing America. Graham attacks Andrews as a socialist for talking about food prices, fuel costs and inflation.
South Carolina once looked almost certain to elect a Republican. Forecasts now put Andrews’s chance of winning at 33%, up from 10%. MAGA is having to spend political resources defending a state it expected to hold with ease, as Republicans outside Trump’s camp make their opposition public.

New Jersey governor threatens to block delivery of Russian diesel cargoes
Mikie Sherrill told @FT’s @JamieSmythF and @alicemhancock that Trump’s deal with Putin would line the pockets of the Russian president at the “expense of American consumers and our democratic ally Ukraine”.

Nearly 2,000 civilians, including about 50 children, are trapped in Oleshky, Ukraine, with almost no food, no clean water, electricity, or heat. A localized ceasefire began October 27, with evacuations expected to start tomorrow, October 29.
Breaking:
Budanov had to be reminded to show no reaction.
According to Le Monde, citing sources, U.S. special envoy Witkoff held a tense meeting in Florida on October 9 with Budanov, head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office.
Sources claimed that Witkoff spoke to Budanov “like a child,” trying to “teach” him how to make money.
Witkoff proposed a postwar “regional prosperity plan” that included fully restoring Russian oil and gas transit to Europe through Ukrainian territory.
Witkoff argued that Ukraine would earn transit revenues while Europe would benefit from lower energy costs.
Budanov reportedly replied that Ukraine’s model is “not Belarus, but Poland,” then stepped out to call President Zelenskyy, who advised him not to show any reaction.
When the talks resumed, the Ukrainian side was shown a document outlining a U.S.-Russia diesel deal.
An irritated Witkoff reportedly said: “Accept this diesel deal and stop striking Russian oil refineries — you are putting the world at risk!”
Ukrainian participants were described as shocked, viewing the plan as creating dependency on Moscow and noting that the United States appeared to have secured nothing in return from Putin.
A source close to the delegation told Le Monde: “I have never seen the Ukrainians so stunned and alarmed after a meeting.”
Analysts contrasted the episode with the February 28, 2025 Oval Office incident, saying this one involves concrete policy decisions that could affect Ukraine’s ability to defend itself ahead of a potentially harsh winter.

🚨 Russian diesel could be arriving at U.S. ports as soon as next week.
Over the weekend, @SenWhitehouse and a bipartisan group of lawmakers wrote letters to major banks, port authorities, and fuel distributors, warning that facilitating Russian diesel imports could expose companies to civil and criminal liability — despite the Trump administration’s General License 135.
And yesterday, the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, @RepRaskin, warned major oil industry groups that a presidential license cannot override federal law, and that those involved in these transactions could face serious penalties — including fines and prison time.
⚡️ Why does this matter? Revenue from Russian energy exports helps finance Putin’s war against Ukraine.
Congress must make clear that the Administration and oil companies cannot simply ignore the 2022 law banning Russian oil product imports.

🚨 Time is of the essence. Call your members of Congress today. Urge them to use every available legislative and oversight mechanism to reverse U.S. policies that undermine Ukraine’s and America’s security and reward Putin’s war.

One day, all the would-be autocrats can join Assad in Moscow. It will be a sort of “autocracy park”. Kind of like Dollywood but with Chechen warlords.

I'm going to keep posting this until everyone reads it whether they want to or not.
The only viable path is
1. Arm Ukraine to Win
2. Bankrupt Russia with Sanctions
3. Negotiate Peace
Step 3 will never work unless 1 and 2 are achieved.

God, I forgot about the Taurus missiles. Just another example of Germany dragging its feet on military aid. If Germany helped more Russia would have gone home long ago.
This is Diplomacy 101.
A side will negotiate when it believes it cannot achieve its aims through force.
Funny how so many seem to have forgotten this.

Zelenskyy: "... we have been waiting for nearly a month for Mr. Hegseth to sign off on missiles for Patriots and NASAMS. I instructed our team to raise this with the American side once again."
I held a coordination call on the situation with weapons supplies from our partners and efforts to restore energy infrastructure following Russian strikes. Prime Minister Sergii Koretskyi reported on the work underway in the regions. I thank every repair crew and all energy companies that are fully carrying out their assigned tasks. The work is continuing virtually nonstop, and we are using the equipment reserves we have built up. I expect the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy, and other agencies involved to communicate in a timely and sufficient manner the need to replenish these reserves.
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs reported on the supply of air defense interceptors to Ukraine, first and foremost Patriot missiles. We are working on several tracks – with the United States, Europe, and other partners that have stocks of PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles. In particular, we have been waiting for nearly a month for Mr. Hegseth to sign off on missiles for Patriots and NASAMS. I instructed our team to raise this with the American side once again. Conversations with other countries are also ongoing.
We also discussed preparations for the November Ramstein meeting. It is important to speed up the implementation of decisions that have been on the table for some time. Every support package is an opportunity to protect people's lives. Thank you to everyone who is providing real support and, in particular, helping speed up these critically important deliveries.

Elon Musk has attempted to close the issue with Starlink in Ukraine. But here is a tale in 7 tweets that suggests it’s far from closed. The throttling back of speed limits on Starlink terminals occurred around 14 October so let’s go back to then in his timeline. 🧵1/10
Ukraine DID NOT violate SpaceX terms of service.
Elon Musk claims that Ukraine allegedly violated Starlink's terms of use and used the system on combat drones.
As someone who was inside the process at the Ministry of Defense, I can say with certainty that this is not true.
In February of this year, whitelists were introduced. Stationary terminals could be registered by both military personnel and civilians.
But for any satellite terminal to work while on the move, it had to be added to a special list and connected to the military Starshield system. Otherwise, no satellite communication terminals in Ukraine would work.
In other words, using civilian Starlink for drone missions was technically impossible. All drone missions that required satellite communication could only be carried out using Starshield.
We are very grateful to the United States and SpaceX for access to critically important satellite communications. Ukraine did not violate the terms of use.
