#BREAKING: Beledweyne Elders Declare Somalia Has Fallen Apart, Call on Soldiers to Leave Somali National Army and Join Their Communities
Traditional elders and community leaders in Beledweyne, Somalia’s Hiiraan region, have issued a strongly worded statement accusing Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of dividing the country and undermining national unity.
“Somalia has fallen apart, and Hassan Sheikh is responsible for tearing it apart. Every soldier should return to their home region and community, and every community should withdraw its forces from the Somali National Army,” the elders declared.
The remarks reflect growing anger among local leaders amid escalating political tensions and reported military defections in Hiiraan.
The statement raises serious concerns about deepening divisions, the potential fragmentation of Somalia’s national security forces, and the risk of further instability as tensions between the federal government and local communities continue to escalate.
