2026 has brought major steps forward on its EU journey: new negotiation clusters opened, two EU-Moldova summits, and tangible progress towards integration into the European market.
Behind these milestones lies more than political declarations. It is the choice of a society, the courage to reform and the determination to anchor the country’s future in Europe. All of those are big successes of @sandumaiamd and our @EPP member party in Moldova.
The journey is far from over. Fighting corruption, ensuring independent courts and delivering real reforms remain essential.
Moldova’s European future is no longer just a distant dream. It is a project taking shape, step by step.

EU enlargement offers the opportunity for a stronger, more stable Europe capable of shaping its own future.
The 2026 Enlargement Reports show that we are on track to achieving record progress this year, and how the path to the EU is becoming clearer for some of our candidate countries.
Today, we introduce roadmaps for the four countries that have made most reform progress in recent years.
For Montenegro, the roadmap charts a path towards signing its accession treaty as soon as June 2027.
For Albania, Moldova and Ukraine, the process is gaining momentum with clear priorities for the year ahead.
This progress shows that political will makes all the difference. The EU path remains open to all our candidates ready to make a similar choice.

Received today from EU Ambassador @IwonaPiorkoEU the @EU_Commission's Enlargement Report for Moldova - the annual assessment of progress of the 10 countries in the accession process.
The assessment is very positive. The Commission places Moldova among the four most advanced countries and confirms that the reforms of recent years have brought us closer than ever to our goal.
The Commission also states that our target of provisionally closing accession negotiations in early 2028 is ambitious, but achievable, if we keep up the pace of reforms.
This recognition belongs to everyone who worked for it - in our institutions and across society, often in very difficult times. We welcome the result, but we will not slow down. European integration is our national project, and it depends above all on doing our homework at home. 🇲🇩🇪🇺
