When I was in college I was very sick. The health struggle was a formative experience. The nurses who treated me, talked me through medical decisions, and kept my spirits up were amazing. COVID-19 showed them to be heroes. #NationalNursesDay

Insulin was invented ~100 years ago, and its patent sold for $1.
“Do you know the reason why [insulin is] $1,000 with insurance?” ~@AOC
There is no reason for insulin to cost $21 in Canada for a 10 ml bottle, while it costs a mortgage payment in the US.

My heart is lighter because some justice was served today. George Floyd’s family will see the accountability they deserve from the man who took his life, and that matters.
The fight must continue.
Today we commemorate the 56th anniversary of #BloodySunday for the first time without our beloved #JohnLewis. Let us use this moment and the memory of the sacrifices made on the #EdmundPettusBridge to fuel our continued fight for equal protection under the law. #Selma56

You want to thank Black women?
Cancel student debt -- all of it.
Black women carry more student debt than any other group in America.
Save your words of appreciation. Policy is our love language.

While today’s terrible display of terror and meanness shakes us, let’s remember: @ossoff, Jewish son of an immigrant & @ReverendWarnock, first Black Senator from Georgia, will join a Catholic POTUS & the first woman, Black + Indian VP in our nation’s capital. God bless America.

Something seriously wrong when rioters are allowed to walk away after looting the Capitol, but multiple journalists are being arrested for filming/covering the story.
Only when they were about to be put on a bus to jail were these two journalists, apparently, let go
With @wleaming, still rolling the camera while we were being arrested for filming protests outside the Capitol.
Today America's hypocrisy has been exposed for the world to see. Stop saying this is not us. The only way to get through this is to face it head on and to strive for what America could be. We're not there yet. For BIPOC ppl this country has never been great.
Just want to say thank you to all who supported this CP bid. We are disappointed but the work doesn't stop. Tomorrow, we move forward. @Monica4PrezSD
