BREAKING: DOJ assistant AG for civil rights Harmeet Dhillon has resigned following Democrats' midterm sweep, according to Fox News.
The announcement comes as Secretary of State Marco Rubio is also considering resigning, according to The Independent.
"Former officials said the [DOJ] is bracing for multiple other top political appointees to exit in the lame duck period before the New Year," Bloomberg reports.
Up to five cabinet members are reportedly considering leaving the Trump administration.
CBS NEWS: Some Trump aides expect the president to blame Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for the midterm election results, believing the outcome would have been different without the Iran war. CENTCOM commander Gen. Brad Cooper and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine could also face blame over their roles in advising on the war.
JD VANCE BLAMES IRAN WAR FOR REPUBLICAN MIDTERM DEFEAT
Vice President JD Vance says Republicans lost because Trump’s 2024 voters switched to Democrats, not because GOP turnout collapsed.
Citing internal polling, Vance said voters wanted an end to the Iran war, lower inflation, an America First agenda and a change in US relations with Israel.
“The reason we lost is the war,” Vance declared, acknowledging growing dissatisfaction among Republican voters.
