The Science Scribbler, @deescadden, has been making some fun (and very useful) biochemistry and molecular biology videos. The 'Primer Extension' video came in very useful for a recent UG journal club!
So... films are uploaded, name chosen, and logo drawn.... welcome to my YouTube Channel - 'The Science Scribbler'... please check it out and subscribe! bit.ly/34JSmzt

Last week was the @bbsrc fellows conference then the kinetoplastid breeders club. Today is the #MilnerSymp19. Three very different events - It’s lovely to be enjoying such a broad range of science and approaches in such a short time.
Visiting the International Livestock Research Institute @ILRI in Kenya, hearing about very interesting research and enjoying some beautiful views.
Vaccines have prevented MILLIONS of people from serious or deadly illness. There is no cure for polio (which can cause debilitating and life-threatning paralysis) and to have gone from ~350,000 to only ~33 cases in 30 years is an incredible success for science and medicine.

I am really enjoying the image of the black hole, can only imagine how exciting that must be for all of the scientists who worked towards making it happen!
