The FBI lying on an official FBI account about when Election Day is. This isn't an accident. It's deliberate disinformation.
Election day is Wednesday and the #FBI is working around the clock to ensure the midterms are safe. Special Agent in Charge P. J. O'Brien and Public Affairs Specialist Christine Jeltema sat down with @thevoiceofct to discuss how the FBI protects the integrity of elections, including threats, voter intimidation, and ballot fraud. Listen in on their conversation here: ow.ly/2FOZ5102Zwb.

I am not a fan of the automatic English translation that X generated. It wasn't entirely wrong, but some of the nuances felt off. So for my English-speaking friends, here's what I actually wanted to say about Abdul: I came to know Abdul as a Bosch Foundation Fellow in 2014, when we worked on the same project. He is one of the sharpest minds I have ever met, incredibly articulate, and someone who commands a room with both intellect and humility. I still vividly remember sitting next to him on a flight from Japan to China. At the time, he was teaching at Columbia University, and he told me that before stepping into a classroom, he would rehearse each lecture around 40 times (it may even have been 50; my memory is a little fuzzy). I was genuinely amazed. Here was someone with an extraordinary intellect, yet he never relied on talent alone. He believed in preparation, discipline, and doing the work. That conversation left a lasting impression on me. Having worked and traveled in more than 90 countries throughout my career and personal life, I can honestly say that Abdul ranks among the top five people I have ever met in terms of both intelligence and character. I am honestly not surprised that he has come this far, and I have no doubt he will go even further. Abdul is one of those rare individuals who has both the ability and the character to make the world better. I sincerely wish him great success tomorrow and in the years ahead. And it makes me very happy to know that this message actually found its way to him.

If Susan Collins wins there's a decent chance Trump gets to appoint a 40 year-old anti-choice MAGA acolyte to replace Alito for the next 40 years. If she loses, he probably doesn't. Those are some of the stakes. #MEpolitics

What if a federal agent walks into a polling place and demands the ballots? Watch this civics video. States run elections. No federal agency can seize ballots without a lawful court-issued warrant. Even then, it would be extraordinary federal interference in how states run their elections.

States run their elections. No one in the federal government can show up and demand ballots from a polling place without a warrant. This is an incredibly timely PSA.

In Wiltshire, England is an ancient forest called Savernake Forest. It dates back at least 10 centuries and is known for its massive beech and oak trees, as well as ghosts. This area of land was put into the care of Richard Esturmy after the Norman Conquest in 1066. Since then, Savernake estate and forest has passed down from father to son (or daughter, on four occasions) in an unbroken line of hereditary "forest wardens". In 31 generations, it has never once been bought or sold in a thousand years, and today it is the only ancient forest in Britain still in private hands. The Big Belly Oak is an 1100 year old oak tree deep in the forest that still lives. You can hike to it and apparently, stand inside it.

This is such an important point, and it drove me crazy that during the Obamacare debate people kept talking about the UK & Canada even though single payer government-run healthcare wasn't what was on the table. The better example would be systems like here in Belgium & France: tightly regulated and guaranteed insurance, not government-run healthcare. For Obamacare the better comparison would have been Germany, Netherlands & Switzerland, which have much looser regulated insurance and private systems.
Abdul El-Sayed: Medicare for All gets compared to the UK. The UK is not single-payer, it's single-provider. Every hospital is government-run. That's not what I'm advocating for. Health insurance in the year of our Lord 2026 doesn't have to be a product. You can just give it to everybody. It's actually not a government takeover of healthcare. It actually is the freeing up of a market in healthcare.

I've been driving Uber eats the past 2 days in Manchester, NH The city is swarming with @TPAction "ballot chasers" they've bought out every hotel in the city and filled them with out of staters. They gave all these imports Uber eats vouchers to cover meals while they're in town. The vouchers expire tomorrow. They've been ordering tens of thousands of dollars of electronics and video games from retail stores on the UberEATS platform. I've had multiple orders for $250+ bottles of perfume from Ulta. Multiple have asked me to help get them drugs. A couple ordering video games from game stop told me straight up they're mostly phoning in the door knocking and just here for the paycheck, they don't support Trump or Sununu. And above all, with few exceptions they are horrible tippers, and Uber is offering wildly inflated base pay to get their order volume delivered. Republicans are spending how many millions of dollars to flood New Hampshire with apathetic out of staters who are just here for a subsidized party vacation with nightly bar crawls and club nights, and premature victory parties all while the candidates they're supporting slip further back in the polls by the day. GOP donors are gonna probably want an accounting, if not a reckoning, of how badly @TPUSA has blown this election, and how much money has been wasted to give a few thousand grifting college kids a free vacation and a bunch of cash and goodies to go home with instead of delivering results. – at Manchester, NH

The fact that we still have nuclear weapons tells me people don’t understand them. When I was at Uni, we studied descriptions from survivors of the atomic blasts at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I thought it would be like learning about any other harrowing history. I was very wrong. It disturbed me in my bones and never left me. When the atomic bombs detonated in Japan, some of these survivors literally thought it was an alien invasion. This was because the flash was so blinding bright and silent, they had never imagined anything like it before. There was also no noise for those close to the blast. The shockwave hit their ears at the same time as the sound, sending them flying and shattering everything in its wake. This became known as the Pika-Don. For those further away from the detonation, the sound following the flash was deafening beyond description. It was described as an impossible crack, as if the sky had snapped open. This was trailed by a terrifying deep roar that screamed outwards. It was considered one of the loudest events in human history. Then there was the thermal heat wave. It was so hot it vaporised people in the open instantly and other peoples clothes melted into their skin. Many were burned beyond belief and just stood there screaming or silent, as the sky turned black from the dust, ash and debris. Wild firestorms spread throughout the city, as people searched in darkness for their families and friends. But the worst was yet to come. Those that died in the blast were the lucky ones. Over the coming days and weeks, people’s hair fell out. Without explanation those that had incredibly survived, started to confusingly fall ill and perish over time. I don’t want to describe the side effects of the radiation sickness, but it made me cry reading about it. The hopelessness, suffering and courage of the people that succumbed to this, should be mandatory reading for everyone, to understand the true power of nuclear weapons. “I know not with what weapons World War Three will be fought, but World War Four will be fought with sticks and stones” - Albert Einstein

MUST-WATCH: "Until they drive prices UP... Americans aren't complaining right now that prices are too LOW." @AbdulElSayed masterfully schools Bari Weiss' CBS News(max) 60 minutes host @Douthat60 on the problem with living in corporatism, not capitalism -where monopolies and oligopolies reign supreme - and the importance of backing politicians who support the ability of labor UNIONS to push back so workers can earn more and live better lives... rather than politicians who are owned by corporations. UPDATE: They found human remains at Organ Pipe, in the dirt Trump's wall contractors tore up. ProPublica reports a park service archaeologist found Native American remains near the base of a saguaro that was still standing. On Sept. 8. Nobody was told until now. A University of Arizona curator says the remains appear to be cremated, from about 1,500 years ago. Lorraine Eiler, an 89-year-old Hia-Ced O'odham elder, warned them in August. "People used to live here." "They're going to find remains wherever they dig." Tohono O'odham Chairman Verlon Jose says discoveries like this are "a wound to the heart." They were warned. But that didn’t stop them. #DemsUnited
Trump's second border wall is going up through Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, and they're ripping out sacred saguaros to build it. 🌵 This video from Russ McSpadden of the Center for Biological Diversity shows saguaros on the ground next to the bollards for the new wall. It shows thousands of saguaros have been removed, along with ocotillo and all kinds of other plants and vegetation. The Tohono O'odham call the saguaro ha:şañ. In their custom, saguaros are considered people. Removing one isn't just destroying a plant, it's considered an act of violence against a person. These creatures grow about an inch in their first eight years. They don't flower until 35. They don't grow an arm for 50 to 70 years. They live 150 years or more. And they provide homes for other critters. Gila woodpeckers carve nests into saguaros, and elf owls, kestrels and purple martins move in after. And "just transplant them" doesn't always work. An NPS official told federal auditors that as many as half didn't survive the move. In 2020, thousands were removed for the first 30-foot wall. Some were transplanted. Most didn't survive. Now the survivors are being torn out again. McSpadden: "The few that did survive are being transplanted again, so exponentially less chance of survival for those saguaros." And thousands more are slated to be ripped out of the Tohono O'odham Nation's own land. The Nation says Border Patrol told them it's happening. Chairman Verlon Jose: "Trespassing on our land to remove the sacred saguaros is like having masked men break into your house and take away your children." So the Nation went to court to stop it, including an emergency request to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. A federal judge has refused to block the wall and the removal of the saguaros. Removing a saguaro without a permit is illegal in Arizona. But last November, DHS waived legal requirements there to speed up wall construction. Check out Russ's video below to see the desecration of the ancient saguaros. It's in the first reply. What would you do if invaders came onto your land and started desecrating it? #DemsUnited 🎥 Russ McSpadden, Center for Biological Diversity
