"Shogun for Persia"
Please check out my latest novel, The Thread of Reason. It's a murder mystery set in Baghdad & western Persia in the year 1092, featuring Omar Khayyam. The murder happened in real life. The investigation & solution are my invention.

Gul Madred is still considered a swear phrase in my house. Stub your toe? Gul Madred! Send your bitcoin to the wrong address? Gul Madred!! Accidentally start a conflict in West Africa with a poorly worded email? GUL MADRED!

Instead of getting a little sticker after you voted, you should get a QR code that you could somehow enter into your TV and it would no longer display political ads.

I like the idea of just saying God said so like a lot.

“How’s your happy family doing?”
In a new trend on Iranian social media, families of protesters killed by the Islamic Republic are answering this question with videos of happier days, filled with laughter, dancing, and love, followed by the heartbreaking reality they live with today.
These were once happy families with dreams, futures they imagined together.
With every life that this regime has taken, there is a family that will never be the same again.
Interesting analysis of the Israeli election. Key takeaways:
- The Netanyahu bloc is fractured.
- The Eisenkot bloc is not.
- While Eisenkot is open to additional parties joining his coalition, it is unlikely Arab or religious parties would agree to the 4 conditions or "pillars" he has set.
- As for high Arab turnout and the resulting jump in the number of Arab party seats, "failures to keep their communities safe from crime drove Arab citizens to the ballot box."
Netanyahu’s bloc doesn’t exist.
Everything the Western press told you about Israel’s election is falling apart.
My in-depth analysis, no one has put in English yet:

(Note: If you meant the actor Jude Law, he is a British film actor rather than a halakhic legal code.)
In a recent post, I argued that one reason Israel should exist as a Jewish state is that "Zionists populated and developed it. Homesteading is a legitimate, moral basis for a claim to real estate."
I learned today that this idea goes back to John Locke and is known as the Labor Theory of Property: "Whatsoever then he removes out of the State that Nature hath provided, and left it in, he hath mixed his Labour with, and joyned to it something that is his own, and thereby makes it his Property." Second Treatise on Government, Ch. 5, §27 (1689)
