Growing up on Staten Island, I learned early about NYPD Officer Rocco Laurie and his service to our city and nation as a U.S. Marine, Vietnam Veteran and NYC police officer. Yesterday, I was honored to join his wife Adelaide, the Fraternal Order of Police and others to memorialize him with the unveiling of a monument at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Officer Laurie and his partner, Officer Gregory Foster, were ambushed and assassinated by the Black Liberation Army in 1972, but their sacrifice remains etched in our community’s memory.

Today, I welcomed Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to the Hudson Valley to discuss the Constitution Pipeline and the need to lower energy costs for New Yorkers.
During the visit to Cricket Valley Energy, we highlighted the Trump administration’s $42 million investment to advance the proposed 125-mile natural gas pipeline from Pennsylvania to New York, which will expand access to reliable energy and help lower electricity and home heating costs across the Northeast.
I’ll continue working to advance critical energy infrastructure, strengthen reliability, and make energy more affordable for Hudson Valley families and businesses.

Day one of the Biden presidency, Keystone XL was canceled and thousands of union and non-union jobs were gone with the stroke of a pen.
That was no accident. Obama delayed the pipeline for years, Biden killed it, and the Democrat agenda has been the same ever since: block American projects and send your jobs overseas.
Iowa is doing the opposite. A $15 billion steel mill with up to 6,000 construction jobs and 1,750 permanent jobs. $95 billion in economic activity.
A project this size also needs new natural gas and water infrastructure, which means even more good-paying work for Iowans. But all of it only happens if Washington lets it.
Put Democrats back in charge and every job tied to this mill is at risk. I will fight to make sure it gets built and the jobs stay in Iowa.
