Am glad that one of India’s most iconic leaders @SoniaGandhi has decided to come out, tell her story and take ownership of the narrative of her fascinating journey. It’s a remarkable tale of transformation from a young Italian student to the entrenched leader of India’s oldest political party. She has indeed dominated our political landscape for decades and her story will greatly enrich our understanding of India’s history in a crucial period.
There’s bound to be some tamasha when this book comes out. After all, others have spent decades telling my “story”, now it’s my turn.

The dignity & gravitas of a young leader, Jyotiraditya Scindia @JM_Scindia & the decades of field experience of Ghulam Nabi Azad are now lost to the Congress party. The rich experience that these two leaders bring to their positions & participation in politics & governance is creditable. It’s tragic to see the grand old party of Nehru, Patel & Maulana Azad now emptied of all political wisdom, as senior leaders literally flee from the Congress organisation. It’s scary & sad to see such a great legacy being so carelessly wasted as the spiteful rhetoric of its main leader Rahul Gandhi takes its toll of the talent available to an organisation in dire need of revival.
Ghulam Nabi and Jyotiraditya were cowards. Said @RahulGandhi Rahul Gandhi told the young leaders that the @INCIndia now left with only "lions", after the "cowards and greedy" had walked out. @kharge calm down RahulGandhi. @nsui few leaders categorically said @NehaAisa is seditious anti national. Whereas brother sister hold Neha Bora above NSUI. Murmurs heard in @IYC also against Bora. What’s bro… Happening in Congress. @ghulamnazad @JM_Scindia

Also interesting is that while the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president @manickamtagore announced that the @TVKPartyHQ has joined the INDIA opposition alliance, there hasn’t been a public acknowledgment from the TVK of this development. Neither @TVKVijayHQ nor @RahulGandhi mentioned this in their Chennai meeting and there’s no indication of a firming up of such an alliance.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is showing a remarkable deal of political sagacity in his handling of national & state politics. He is bringing a refreshing difference to the management of Centre-State relations. While he makes clear that he’s firmly aligned with the Congress as a coalition partner in the State, he’s ensuring that these political ties do not cost the State in terms of its relations with New Delhi. Presenting a comprehensive list of demands mostly aimed at boosting Tamil Nadu’s infrastructure, Vijay emphasised today in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence, that the State and Centre need to work together on this trajectory. It’s a welcome change from the stale rhetoric of the Dravidian parties lamenting the lack of respect for federalism & thereby obstructing a healthy dialogue for the State’s progress. Vijay is a new generation path-breaking politician who is showing that sans the baggage of outdated ideological legacies, the space for governance is that much wider! @TVKVijayHQ @narendramodi @CMOTamilnadu

Elon Musk’s observations seek to discredit the sovereignty of India’s telecom policy by casting aspersions on the Government’s hitherto cold response to Starlink. This comes at a time when the US is literally expelling India’s IT giants from flourishing on its soil. This is blatant hostility towards India’s economy and an open cold shouldering of India’s iconic business titans. Just out of hatred for the Prime Minister @narendramodi, the LoP @RahulGandhi is actually undermining India, giving legitimacy to the sneering utterances of those hostile to our country. Rahul Gandhi must take care not to let his personal prejudices overwhelm his political judgment. The Indian people deserve a united political response to outside forces seeking to undermine our rising economy!
Welcome to India, Elon. Wait till you discover the other guy.

With such hostility on the part of the US administration towards Indian IT majors, effectively barring them from a continuing presence on US soil, why should India allow Starlink to operate in India? @elonmusk’s barbs about the stranglehold of oligarchs on Indian telecom are best ignored.
.@Sonderling47: "I am hereby suspending from the Permanent Labor Certification Program some of the largest IT outsourcing firms in the world — Cognizant, Infosys, Tata, Wipro, HCL, and Capgemini — and also, due to multiple active federal investigations, @USDOL is suspending Microsoft and Adobe from the program."

Proud of this courageous son of India! Also clearly a great human being with abundant reserves of courage, compassion and humanity. Lying wounded, he managed to open the cockpit door allowing passengers to rush in and prevent the plane from crashing, saving hundreds of lives in the process!
Captain Smit Machchhar is a HERO. In the face of the gravest danger and despite being seriously injured, he showed immense courage and an unwavering resolve to protect the lives of others. His valour helped save hundreds of lives and avert a great tragedy. India is proud of Captain Machchhar. Praying for his speedy recovery, renewed strength and good health.

Remarkable ingenuity & imagination on the part of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay @TVKVijayHQ to invoke the traditionally beloved figure in a Tamil family “Maama”-maternal uncle- and thereby launch a scheme of giving gold rings to newborns in public hospitals. By invoking the traditional stereotype of “Thai Maaman”, CM Vijay ensures he endears himself to Tamil women & households with instant effect! He is clearly cementing his place in the mould of MGR in the political imagination in the State.

Absolutely agree @Suhelseth . La Piazza is my go-to-place every time I visit Delhi. Not only does it have authentic cuisine but has a warm and trattoria-like ambience. @HyattRegencyDel
I’ve always believed that La Piazza at the @HyattRegencyDel is unarguably one of the finest Italian restaurants in the city if not the country: and am so happy that they’ve been recognised by @eazydiner as well. Congratulations…

Growing up, I used to look up to REAL journalists who had so much to give, wrote deep analysis, and frequently placed those in power in uncomfortable situations. They were the real INFLUENCERS. Giants like Cho Ramaswamy, Vaidhyanathan, @MaliniP, N. Ravi, N. Ram, Malan, P. Raman, and at the National level, @PrannoyRoy7749. Their influence was earned through rigorous intellect, courage, and solid substance. Of course, there were compromises, but it was very subtle. Today, those heavy words of substance have been replaced by a camera lens and a mic. The modern digital "influencer" landscape is dominated by the loudest voices, screaming hot takes, and manufactured outrage designed purely to feed an algorithm and vested interests. We have traded volume for value, spectacle for substance, and noise for insight.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay @TVKVijayHQ, seething with anger, rained scorching fire on the Opposition party @arivalayam, bringing into the glare of public scrutiny the charges made in an ED chargesheet against that party, its leaders @mkstalin & @Udhaystalin that they benefitted personally from party funds. This is a significant raising of the ante on the CM’s part and underlines that the @TVKPartyHQ will make its anti-corruption drive the centrepiece of its policy platform, with the DMK being its principal target. Whether this signifies the beginning of the end of the Dravidian party era, time alone will tell!
#Watch | Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay alleged that former CM M.K. Stalin and his son, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin were benefitted from ill-gotten ‘party funds’. The Chief Minister hit out at the DMK for being corrupt, as political tensions intensified in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. Video: PTI
