INR 3 lakh quote for repair at 22,000 km. @TATA_CARS @TataCompanies Absolutely disappointed that my 4 year old Altroz DCA (serviced at Tata) has broken down. Service advisor claims that (at 22,000km) oil has contaminated the coolant and is quoting INR 3,00,000 to get it roadworthy. Gutted.

Was born in an exactly similar space. Mom calls it a ‘काल कोठरी’ and still shows us the dilapidated place whenever we go to our village. I’m not a fool to trade what my dad built over the years for the sake of champagne dehatis on the left who fetishise poverty. A big F U to the fetishisation of someone else’s deprivation as a moral aesthetic for one’s own self-congratulation. When we despise dehat, it is not the people we despise. It is the mindset that can emerge as a consequence of deprivation. And when these intellectuals glorify dehat, they don’t necessarily love the people of dehat. They love the conditions those people spend their lives trying to escape. We see deprivation and want to end it. They see deprivation and want to romanticise it. We see people who deserve better; they see poverty that makes them feel better about themselves. There is nothing noble about being deprived. The dignity is in the person. The deprivation is not.
I don’t mean to sound like Draco Malfoy, but I am pure-blooded Dehati. My mother gave birth to me in a dark kaccha village hut on the banks of the Banas River. Dehat is the blood of her labour, soaking into that lipai floor. That year, ecofeminists like Arundhati Roy were protesting against the construction of dams on rivers. Dams that would provide electricity to villages like mine. My parents and I have worked very hard to get out of Dehat, and I feel so much joy when I see leftists, corrupt bureaucrats, and dynastic politicians throw tantrums when we don’t vote for them. I am not going to romanticise the poverty my parents came from, or the spiritual environmentalism that leftists promote to keep women like my mother backward. I will remain unapologetically anti-Dehat.

SIR in blore - own experience - forms got issued, BLOs hands were full but she did a great job. For some reason my mom got flagged. Notice issued, that day was a bit painful but they ensured she didn't have to wait too long. Docs examined & now everyone in the list.

The only hope among all Congress leaders is Priyanka Gandhi. She will start gaining popularity from 2030, when her Moon Dasha begins. Her Moon is placed in Bhagyesh Nakshatra, Anuradha. Her political rise will happen after 2034. My best wishes to her, @priyankagandhi and I hope her personal life goes well.

Meta Rayban ad with Ranveer Singh is such a missed opportunity! The ideal ad would’ve been Ranveer as Hamza with the glasses recording as he punched Zahoor Mistry.

You can start by now only using Tata Products and giving us reviews. Maybe that will encourage people to support Tata products and businesses.
Tata is being criminally destroyed, and no business leader dares say a word. How long will you stay silent? Until they own you? Indian business is not Modi and Shah's plaything. You lack courage. We don't. We will ensure justice for these crimes.

Wife’s name was being transferred from blr to our native. The local blo helped out. A note of appreciation to all the govt employees who had to go door to door for this process. Anganawadi teachers were the unsung heroes

In the early days, whenever I visited Bangalore for work, I would often sit and work out of Ather’s office. Swapnil Jain is a good friend, so I have followed their journey closely. Sachin and Binny Bansal are, in my view, among the truest angel investors India has seen. Back in 2014, Tarun and Swapnil were building Ather with a rough prototype and plenty of investor rejections. They approached the Bansals for a small investment. Instead, they offered to fund the entire $1 million! What impressed me even more was their founder friendliness. From what I understand, they gave the founders voting control, signed incredibly founder-friendly terms and even insisted they draw decent salaries as the company grew. Sachin also introduced Tarun to Lee Fixel, paving the way for Tiger Global’s $12 million investment in 2015. He continued backing Ather with much larger cheques. From a crude prototype at IIT Madras to a publicly listed EV company, quite a journey! To me, this is what angel investing should look like. Capital, connections and genuine trust in founders.
Ather is actually a very interesting story, and I think this tweet misses a big part of it. Look at who funded Ather. Sachin Bansal invested ~$53M, starting as an angel and then leading its Series C and Series D. Imagine an Indian founder personally putting that much money behind a hardware startup leading growth rounds. Then there's Hero MotoCorp. A traditional Indian two-wheeler company backed a startup that could eventually compete with its own business. Hero started investing in 2016 and kept doubling down. Today, its stake is worth billions of dollars. Between Sachin and Hero, nearly 50% (~$250Mn) of Ather's capital came from two backers you would hardly expect to make such investment. Think about how unusual that is. Neither was a traditional VC fund, yet both played a huge role in getting Ather to where it is today. And it's not just Ather. Mukesh Bansal invested ~$1.5M in Skyroot Aerospace very early. That bet is now reportedly worth ~$80M, including partial exits. Nearly 60x. I think we should spend more time celebrating people who are actually making these contrarian investments rather than criticizing those who aren't. The former encourages more people to take risks. The latter doesn't really help anyone.

545 - Nepali Nationals 24 - American Nationals 8 - Australian Nationals 2- Canadian Nationals 3 - UAE Nationals A total of 583 foreign nationals were found in the BBBMP North District during the SIR process in the voter list. It is still a big question of how these foreign nationals managed to get their entries in the voter list. Their names were deleted from the voter list during the SIR process as they failed to provide the details of their parents. The buck doesn't stop here. Foreign nationals belonging to Nepal, the UK, Norway, Ireland, Bangladesh, France, and the Netherlands were found in the voter list from the Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Belagavi, Hassan, Bagalkot, and Gadag districts. SIR has not just weeded out the dead and shifted voters but also identified and successfully deleted foreign nationals who surreptitiously managed to get their names on the voter list, endangering national security and defeating the prospects of free and fair elections. So, I didn’t want to do this, but am left with little choice. In mid-August, friends and I enquired with @captureatrip about a trip to Seoul. They asked us to deposit a sum and close the booking and threw in visas for free to get us to rush. Two of us three did; the third had her visa already in progress and chose to continue with Atlys. Beyond basic enquiries over the next two days, there was ZERO movement on our visas. We were okay because it wasn’t our headache any way. Now, @captureatrip and their visa partner awoke two weeks later, then gave VERY conflicting information on document requirements, made us send all of those documents printed, even those that could be done digitally, and every time I followed up, they had a new requirement, to the point that they then asked for MORE MONEY to process the visas as express. Then, the visas arrived after our onward flights were due, can you imagine?! The two of us lost two days of Seoul despite tickets being booked and when I finally received the visa, I had to book last minute flights to Delhi on the same day, costing me additionally. After being in contact with their leadership throughout the process, sharing all the miscommunication, building an entire digital dossier, not only were they inconsiderate, they have refused to even refund the amount paid to them despite us eventually being forced to plan and go on our own. We had used them a few years ago, and thus a friend suddenly thought to trust them again. But it has been a terrible experience. Highly recommend never using them. Want to go legal, so all help appreciated.

This year I’ve realised I’m Tony. All my life I have only taught my sibling & sibling is in a completely different league when it comes to brains. Teaching the neighbour’s kid was humbling. I am not a teacher and home schooling the kids is definitely not for me.
When I was in high school and taking drum lessons, I used to get to the drum studio about 15 minutes before my lesson started and I would talk to the owner Tony On one of the days I asked him why he doesn't teach lessons since he is a phenomenal drummer He told me verbatim: "Just because you're good at something doesn't mean you can teach it. Teaching someone something is a skill in and of itself. Also, I have no patience for people. If you don't get it right away I get frustrated." I think about this a lot

Someone should ask the medical distributor husband, how much mark-up in % terms does he get for the various medicines that he sells. Now that the reality has come back to bite him, he's singing a different tune and it has suddenly dawned on this that landed cost to the patient is much higher than actual price.
🚨 SUPREME COURT | “Can you show any justification for this loot?” A cancer patient’s husband, a medical distributor, told the Supreme Court that an injection available to him at a dealer price of ₹11,000 was allegedly priced at ₹1.30 lakh by a reputed hospital, which refused to administer the injection he offered. “Why this difference? Where does the money go?” Justice Sandeep Mehta asks the Centre.

Hello @IKEAIndia , I’ve been looking to get your Flisat height adjustable table for months now but it’s not available & customer service has no info on it being restocked/withdrawn for India. Could you please clarify? The table is available in other countries. Why not in India?
