All the people hyperventilating over the "Chinese megadam" can look at this chart and realize that the so-called "megadam" is not built by the Chinese. It was built by nature long before humanity came into existence!

India’s proposed 11,200 MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project in Arunachal Pradesh has gained urgency amid China’s upstream dam plans. While the government cites national security, local protests and environmental concerns pose major challenges. In this episode, @sonikkalogan speaks to Omair Ahmad, former South Asia editor of ‘The Third Pole’, about how much of the project is driven by strategic considerations, the costs to local communities and the environment, and what an effective transboundary water-sharing strategy could look like. Remember how the ADGP held a press briefing and clearly identified the victims as Meiteis when three Meiteis were killed? But when the victims are Kukis, they are simply called “civilians.” It reminds me of the Justice D. M. Sen Commission report on the 1993 Pangal massacre, which described “nearly 100 persons” being killed. They conveniently hid the fact that, out of the 100, 96 were Pangals and only 4 were Meiteis. Naming one community while leaving another unnamed obscures who suffered. This is how the Manipur government shapes the narrative.
PRESS RELEASE 6th November 2026 Regarding the unfortunate recent incidents of arson and killings of civilians, the cases are under thorough investigation and efforts are on to identify the accused and witnesses are being located and questioned. Further, joint teams of Police, CoBRA, CRPF, BSF, Assam Rifles and Army are conducting CASO’s as well as Int-based operations in the affected areas to take action as per law to punish the perpetrators of such heinous crimes. Necessary action is also being taken up with National Investigation Agency. Police and all Security Forces are taking the matter with utmost concern. Security measures have been put in place, and the situation is being closely monitored. We appeal to the public to remain clam, exercise restraint and not take the law into their own hands. People are also requested not to believe or circulate unverified information, rumours or provocative content on social media, as these may aggravate the situation. We urge all section of society to cooperate with the Police and security forces in maintaining peace and preventing further violence.

Remember how this police officer briefed the media daily when three Meiteis were killed, with coordinated efforts to nab the culprits? Now, complete silence over the abduction of two boys at Marimei by NSCN(IM). If we don’t matter to the state, you don’t matter to us. Hypocrites

In a compelling address echoing the resolute position of the Kuki-Zo Women's Forum Delhi & NCR (KZWFD), Doungel described the demand not merely as a political aspiration but as an existential necessity for ensuring the survival, dignity, justice, security, and lasting peace of the Kuki-Zo community. Questioning the broader national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Doungel raised a critical concern: What does a developed India mean if the Kuki-Zo people cannot live peacefully on their own ancestral lands? The statement emphasised that India's vision of development and progress must extend to every community, ensuring that no section of its citizens is left to endure prolonged insecurity, suffering, and injustice. Standing as a voice for the voiceless, KZWFD reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the rights, dignity, and political future of the Kuki-Zo people, asserting that lasting peace can only be achieved through a meaningful political solution that guarantees their security and future. Even The Economist is saying China is *substantially more democratic* than India. Was never convinced by the line that India's not growing like China because India is a "democracy" --truth has always been that India's growth is hampered by a growing democratic deficit that determines policy choices - unlike China.
The Economist inadvertently says something interesting about the difference between capitalist and socialist democracy. “India’s political class should consider itself lucky. In next-door China, the Communist Party has to do something much more difficult than winning elections. China’s social contract requires the state to consistently raise living standards, the quality of life and national power in exchange for which citizens keep their noses out of politics. All Indian politicians have to do is to feign interest in their constituents once every five years. Yet instead of accepting this sweetheart deal, Mr Modi’s government is doubling down by suppressing protests that are attempting to enforce it.” Having studied the Chinese political system and having travelled to China many times, I can say with some confidence that “citizens keeping their noses out of politics” is very much not an ambition of the CPC. There are extensive, growing networks of grassroots democracy. What is true, however, is that the government is expected to deliver for the needs of the people. Meanwhile, the right to elect people who “feign interest in their constituents” is not actually that important to the hundreds of millions of Indians who live in desperate poverty. I am in New Delhi right now. It’s in many ways a delightful city, but the levels of poverty and inequality – along with the general dysfunction, political repression and religious/caste prejudice – are heartbreaking. It may be tough to swallow, but the fact is that China is substantially more democratic than the capitalist countries. economist.com/asia/2026/10/1…

WHEN DID THE INDIAN RESERVE BATTALION (IRB) COME UNDER THE TANGKHUL NSCN-IM UMBRELLA? It is a matter of grave concern that personnel of an Indian Reserved Battalion (IRB) stationed at Thonglang Liangmai Village have displayed a Tangkhul NSCN-IM flag at their official post. This incident raises the following serious questions: 1. Did the Government of Manipur authorize such an act? 2. Did the Manipur Police authorize such an act? 3. Did the Ministry of Home Affairs authorize an Indian Reserved Battalion to display a secessionist flag in place of the IRB flag or the National Flag of India? It is further questioned whether any action has been initiated against the concerned officers and the persons responsible for this act. If true, such an incident reflects a deeply disturbing situation in the state of Manipur and demands immediate clarification and accountability from the concerned authorities. @PMOIndia @HMOIndia @rashtrapatibhvn @PIBHomeAffairs @GoI_MeitY @MIB_India @BDUTT @vijaita @TanushreePande @ShashiTharoor @virsanghvi @KaranThapar_TTP @Dig_raw21 @majorgauravarya @Gen_VKSingh @LtGenPCN @palepurshankar @TheSatishDua @Dig_raw21 @GeneralBakshi @MajorPoonia @Gen_VKSingh @YKhemchandSingh @KonthoujamG @manipur_police @LokBhavManipur @BhallaAjay26 @TheSangaiExpres @PoknaphamNews @meiteiheritage @koubru_lakpa @Paari_Athouba @laimacha @debanishachom @BikramjitMK @Ukhrultimes @LIANGMAIPOST @Paari_Athouba

#Manipur: The Committee on #Tribal Unity (CoTU), Sadar Hills, on Wednesday, November 4, extended its ongoing total shutdown in Manipur's #Kangpokpi district by another 48 hours, accusing the government of failing to take decisive action over the killing of two Kuki-Zo civilians. The shutdown, which was scheduled to end at 5 pm on November 4, will now remain in force until 5 pm on November 6, the organisation announced, citing the government's failure to address its demands and implement the Charter of Demands submitted in connection with the killings. indiatodayne.in/manipur/vide…

I've been seeing a lot of unwanted, spammy and downright disgusting messages, especially in the comment sections. But don't worry, I won't be deleting them. I want people to see the kind of mindset this regime has cultivated over the years. Your cheap tactics of spamming other people's posts and filling comment sections with your hateful rhetoric which obviously reflects your mindset and the kind of politics your sarkar has normalised. That's on you and your sarkar, not me.
