The French seem to forget that they were allowed to maintain their French language and Catholic faith because the British Crown protected them after the Seven Years’ War. They should be more grateful.

“It prioritizes British colonial ties over the diversity of our province” Yes.
The Ontario Red Ensign is a literal spite flag adopted out of anger at Pearson's red maple leaf flag. It prioritizes British colonial ties over the diversity of our province. It's a joke!

Catholic intimacy rules were designed for a world where you courted for 6 months & got married at 22. Applying “no kissing” rules to a 27 year old in a 2 year relationship heading toward marriage is cruel and legalistic torture.
Oh brother what are we even doing here

If you aren't a nationalist and you aren't a Monarchist you shouldn't get Victoria day weekend off.

Today, I sent a letter to the CBC Ombudsman demanding an explanation and accountability for the use of taxpayer money to mislead, deceive and lie to Canadian citizens, including Members of Parliament, in attempts to trick them into participating in a fake documentary smearing the reputation of Canada's first prime minister. I look forward to her response.

"Longest Serving Prime Minister." It is time to end this noxious myth about Mackenzie King once and for all, writes James Bowden. dorchesterreview.ca/blogs/ne…

Canada's largest Conservative networking conference begins with a pathetic land acknowledgement, declaring Ottawa to be the "never surrendered homeland of the Anishinàbe Algonquin Nation." This is so embarrassing.

Former Radio-Canada journalist refers to The Crown as the “British Monarchy” and celebrates Bloc leader Yves-François Blanchet for his lack of basic Canadian civic knowledge.
Replying to @sarobertson_
The Bloc, here, with a sensible and respectful reaction to the nomination of Louise Arbour as Governor General. Bravo. We cannot expect them to salute the British Monarchy-it would go against their purpose as a Party- but here, they demonstrate that you can be in the opposition and be in synch with some of the party in power's decisions. It then gives even more credibility to the times when you categorically disagree. When you oppose everything, systematically, it means nothing. You oppose just to oppose. Well done. #cdnpoli #polc @yfblanchet

Canada’s new Governor General Louise Arbour, while serving as the UN Special Representative for Migration, told German state media that illegal migrants should not be deported, and instead be granted permits. “The only answer should not be to return to the country of origin.”

Massive collective yawn. This is an utterly predictable, boring, uninspiring, and repetitive appointment. Essentially another vertically and horizontally challenged female functionary who embodies all the intellectual and imaginative limitations and prejudices of Canada's liberal elite. But oh, what a perfect representative of the pretensions and mediocrities of our political-judicial class!

I agree, what a proud symbol for Alberta! The St. George Cross on our flag should remind Albertans that, like England of history and like St. George of legend, we have the strength and courage to overcome our own dragons.
Happy St. George’s Day! I’ve always loved that Alberta’s beautiful flag and coat of arms prominently feature the Cross of Saint George, reminding us of our historical roots.

Thank god they did not. That mistake (the creation of a fake snowflake crown) will only have to be replaced later by a future government. It's a drawing of a crown that does not exist. It's important that any crown in Canadian official usage represents the actual Crown of Canada, a real crown that is worn by the Head of State. See?

When Stephen Harper & co. glorified the likes of Sir Isaac Brock, Liberals hated it and insisted that Brock, his ilk, and the time in which he lived had 'nothing to do with Canada' (I heard this often). Then the victorious Liberals devoted an entire decade to denigrating our history and turning a blind eye to vandalism or destruction of monuments to famous men. I suppose we are now going to pretend that nothing of that sort happened...
CARNEY: "When I get into the office, I always look at this statue on my desk. It was given to me by Mike Myers just over a year ago, and this is General Isaac Brock. Faced with the threat of an American invasion, Brock built alliances across our land and inspired what would eventually become Canada."

TIL Newfoundland and Labrador still gives government staff a holiday on The Twelfth (that's the anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne).

Why did some Québec nationalists react to the Conservatives praising Don Cherry with « woke » talking points? 🤔 We shouldn’t fear Anglo-Canadian patriotism more than multiculturalism: those who take pride in their culture understand nationalism. @WDiminishment

Don Cherry was voted by his countrymen as the seventh-greatest Canadian of all time in 2004. I don’t care what bleeding heart liberals say about Cherry’s comments and any self-respecting Conservative shouldn’t either. To see some Quebec Conservative MPs whine about Cherry’s comments is pathetic and disrespectful to his legacy. If anyone is deserving of The Order and if The Order means anything anymore, Cherry should be nominated. He is the most patriotic Canadian I have ever seen in Canadian media. Nobody with the platform he commanded in Canadian media and popular culture has done more to advocate for Canada’s military and to honour our fallen heroes. He devoted his life to promoting the game of hockey to generations of Canadians. And everything he said about people not wearing the poppy was entirely correct.
From the CPC website, so it's official party policy. It's also truly a bad idea. It's really making waves in Quebec, and not in a positive way, to the point that the party's Quebec MPs are publicly coming out against it. What are they thinking? conservative.ca/cpc/appoint-…

If you're a conservative, part of what that means is wanting to protect and preserve institutions that shape us and make us distinct. The Crown is one of those institutions. Embracing a left wing anti colonial, rip everything down view is the opposite of that.
“This is not your land, you are not our King. Give us our land back.” One brave woman told King Charles exactly what millions feel. End the colonial farce. xitter.gq/i/status/2024854470417…

Don Cherry mérite l’Ordre du Canada. On est pas obligé de l’aimer mais Il est une des grandes personnalités du canada-anglais, ceux qui l’attaquent ne se rendent pas compte que demain cette cancellation sera utilisé contre les nôtres.
