Of course but this is Apple, so you know any move invites unnecessary over-analyzing by the press 😅

He is a good leaker but no one is taking him very seriously as an “analyst”.
He mixes his own takes and unfounded predictions with leaks people actually want to see and then gets mad when called out on it. No idea what kind of “independent” perspective he things he is providing

Just tried a surface laptop recently at the store. It was atrocious with Touch.
At least we are looking at In-Cell Touch components for the MBP so thankfully it doesn’t have huge downsides to screen reflexivity. You can pretty much just ignore it’s there
early durability concerns (as if any Gate has ever meaningfully impacted sales and most are overblown anyway)
There is more but I want to focus on something positive and give @ijustine some well-deserved flowers for how she has been debunking many of those bad talking points.
get with BS like
- who is HomeView even for (for some reason we don’t see that for way weirder Amazon Echo accessories)
- did the MBP even need a Touchscreen (we always knew the answer is “not really” and that’s fine, no need to over-analyze)
- is iPhone Duo “tainted” by some…
$1499 being very low, nickel and dime upgrades for little things like ports, zero screen improvements over several generations
- no M6 Pro/ Max to boost value of PROLED MBP, binned M5 Pro and 70W charger at $2899 starting price
But what I don’t get is how obsessed some people…
I really feel like the negativity in Tech coverage recently has been weird. Of course it’s good to be critical when it’s needed, I myself have had plenty of negative stuff to say about some of Apple’s recent announcements:
- no ProMotion on iPad mini
- general value of iMac at…
The lid still shakes. The hinge might be better but Touch is still far from ideal for this form factor

on some irrational hatred, even if it plays at least partially into it. The main reason is the ideological divide on the Palestine conflict, the status of Hamas as a terror group, etc.
The internet is just totally brain-broken on Israel Palestine.
By this logic we are saying that the CDU and SPD here in Germany aren’t accepting AFD/Germans as equal citizens because they refuse outright to form a coalition with them. There is a lot of shit wrong with Israeli politics but the refusal to partner with Ra’am is not just based…

Not sure how they can do this without causing issues with core Android UX paradigms. I agree that this is the correct approach (for most Apps at least) though.

If these density numbers are correct than the A20 Pro efficiency superiority is just straight up magic shit 😆
It’s not physical media, it’s not a question about what’s an open platform and what’s closed, etc.
PCMR just wants all games without any understanding that exclusive games help define platforms, build a solid player base and then finance future game development.
Nintendo’s worst nightmare begins as Switch 2 exclusive games start running on PCs and Macs

N3P makes even less sense. Yeah, Apple made the S cores a bit smaller but I don’t get how they got an extra GPU core and two ANEs on a die that is smaller without density gains. I know these two graphs don’t account for all parts of the chip, so who knows

The only way this makes sense to me is that using NanoFlex and other optimizations Apple didn’t prioritize maximum density on the A20 Pro, minimizing the Self Heating Effect as much as possible. But that’s just comparing between N2 and N2P. The lack of density improvements from…
