MAKE PEACE NOT WAR

The tragedic November 4, 2020, was the spark that ignited the fire after years of accumulating political tensions‼️The collapse of the EPRDF’s political order in 2018 and the emergence of the Prosperity Party in 2019 fundamentally reshaped Ethiopia’s political landscape. What followed was not merely a disagreement between the TPLF and the new federal leadership, but an increasingly entrenched struggle over political power, competing visions of statehood, constitutional interpretation, national identity, and the very architecture of the Ethiopian federation. Mutual suspicion evolved into political hostility; political hostility deepened into institutional confrontation; and institutional confrontation progressively eroded the mechanisms that could have contained the crisis. On November 4, the accumulated tensions erupted into a devastating conflict involving TPLF forces, Eritrean government forces, Ethiopian government forces, and Fano forces. The human cost was catastrophic. Every actor must be held accountable for its documented actions. Never forget the victims. Truth, justice, and accountability.
