This. Nice guys can win.
So ridiculously proud of our Harry. What a deserving honour for an outstanding footballer and a fantastic human being. Finally gets the recognition all of us at Tottenham knew he deserved for many, many years. The boy from Chingford did good. 💙👏🏆#BallonDor

It's been many months in the making but the Independent Football Regulator's State of the Game report has been published at last. Still subject to further consultation. Here's my analysis:

Today we launch our State of the Game report, which represents a critical step on the road to building a more sustainable future for a sport which is so fundamental to the social fabric of this country.
It is the most comprehensive financial analysis of the English football industry ever undertaken, and the full report can be seen here – sotg.footballregulator.org.u…
Read below as we summarise key themes of the report and highlight facts of the nation’s favourite game.

ALT FSA chair Tom Greatrex said: “The State of the Game report clearly highlights the unsustainable, broken model of football’s finances. “How is our national game, which generates billions in revenue every year, in such a perilous condition with so many clubs living hand-to-mouth and reliant on regular handouts from owners? “Whether you are a football finance expert or a match going supporter who pays little attention to off-field issues, it is astonishing that almost one in three clubs could not survive for more than a month if an owner stopped funding them. “This is an alarm call for English men’s professional football that must precipitate real and lasting change.”
After the sound and fury of the weekend, another plug for my piece on the issues facing Manchester City fans.

This now updated with the addition of a personal report from One Hotspur Members’ rep @TheFootyCafe #spurs #thfc
Latest edition of my Substack carries my impressions of the first meeting of the #THFC Fan Advisory Board since I was elected to it. Hopefully has some wider interest for the governance crowd, as well as raising the profile of the FAB for #Spurs fans.
