ABC broadcaster Yumi Stynes co-wrote Welcome to Sex, which covers anal sex, scissoring, oral sex, fingering and more, with illustrations. She said a “mature eight-year-old could flick through” it. The book was shortlisted for the 2024 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards. Now the ABC is outraged over a satirical One Nation colouring book that depicts Bluey and Robert Irwin being robbed (at knifepoint by a crocodile, based on their Please Explain cartoons). Graphic how-to sex acts for pre-teens: fine and award-worthy. Political satire using a kids’ character: outrageous and to be stopped. The ABC has some nerve.
