I’m with Altadena. Firefighters from Pasadena Firefighters Association Local 809 are rebuilding alongside their neighbors, and I’m honored to have their support.
Wildfire season is year-round now. I have a plan to harden homes, protect our communities, and back our firefighters, and I’ll fight for every federal dollar Altadena deserves.
Together, we can rebuild.

THE FIGHT IS NOT OVER
We are deeply disappointed that Gov. Newsom has vetoed #AB1383 despite strong bipartisan support.
Thank you to every legislator, labor partner, & firefighter who stood with us. We will keep fighting for retirement security. We will keep standing together.

We are grateful to the Plumas County Board of Supervisors for their unanimous support of #AB1383. We hope to see this same support from the Governor soon.

Today, the California Professional Firefighters (@CAFirefighters) and Peace Officers Research Association of CA (@PORACalifornia) held a rally to urge Governor Newsom to sign AB 1383, which I coauthored alongside author Assemblymember McKinnor (@AsmTinaMcKinnor).

Proposition 43 attacks majority rule by letting 33.4% of voters block local funding. It threatens critical resources for schools, roads, and healthcare to protect corporate interests. Stand up for your community and vote No on Prop 43. #NoOn43CA

Replying to @SenatorSeyarto
@SenatorSeyarto Thank you for your outstanding remarks on the floor re: AB 1383 on retirement benefits, as the son-in-law of a retired police officer, you were definitely speaking for him and the many others who have served as first responders in CA. We're lucky to have your experience in the Senate.

Thank you Senator Dave Cortese, for your support of #AB1383. Firefighters face extraordinary risks throughout their careers, and your support helps ensure they receive the retirement security they've earned.

Over a career, disrupted sleep, toxic exposures, and mental and physical strain add up. For most, two years mean the difference between a long, healthy retirement with their family or continuing to endure health risks. #AB1383 recognizes that reality. Each year carries a cost.

Fact: #CalPERS rate of return of the decade is well above what @DavidGCrane projected. It's 8.57%. You'd think the multi-millionaire that attacks the retirement security of @CAFirefighters, teachers and other public servants would get some basic facts correct. But noooo....

Prop 43 blocks communities from funding the basics: emergency services, hospitals, health clinics, road repairs, schools, and libraries. Even with majority support, local voices get overridden – and that means slower help when people need it most. #NoOn43CA

Paramount and Warner Bros. are two sophisticated companies who willfully decided to include a costly ticking fee as a provision in their merger contract.
What’s more, Paramount itself agreed to the timing it is now protesting.
It’s Blackmail: The Sequel, and we remain unmoved.
