NYU just suspended, for one year, students who participated in a peaceful sit-in demo and Columbia just fired a tenured a law school professor. In both instances because they spoke on behalf of Palestinian rights. This is getting very ugly.

I’m calling for #AcademicTwitter to boycott NYU and Columbia University for their treatment of Pro Palestine students. @Columbia sent a disciplinary notice to a student who they knew was in the ICU. All of these punishments are being done to stop encampments. Enough is enough.

Palestine and Los Angeles are burning for the same reason: the prioritization of advancing capitalist and colonial interests over the lives and well-being of millions. We’re witnessing the brutal effects of capitalism and settler colonialism real time. This can’t continue.
Reading this made me want to give @susanabulhawa a standing ovation in my living room. Unsurprisingly, the resolution that “Israeli is an apartheid state responsible for genocide” passed overwhelmingly 278 to 59.
