Decentralized GPU clusters will rent to users starting to use open weight open source AI. $akt best way to get exposure to this trend.
One answer to what's driving GPU rental prices:
Token demand on OpenRouter is up ~27x since last November, from ~6T/week to ~165T/week
Open-weight models now handle ~72% of those tokens, up from ~28% last November

Sold my by bag, they are just paper trading for weeks.

It’s official $akt is moving to Solana and will be tradable on jupiter dex soon.
$AKT community passed the proposal in record time.
Akash moving to Solana is now official.
(There is still a small chance voters can change their decision but unlikely)

Yes. $akt on solana jupiter dex soon
Lets gooo $akt coming to solana and finally have support for swapping on a dex. Instead of CEX only.
Liquidity is coming :)
Migration to Solana is happening $akt
Chamath is right that 2027 will have a pile of partially stranded, underearning compute.
He’s wrong that the only responses are better-capitalized neoclouds and faster hyperscalers.
The actual pressure valve is already live: a permissionless reverse-auction marketplace where anyone with idle GPUs can list them and anyone who needs compute can take them at market rates, no 3-month NDAs, no 18-month escrow, no “go through our model router.”
That’s Akash $akt. H100s currently clearing ~$2–2.7/hr on the open market while AWS list is still multiples of that. The network is small today (~375 GPUs), but the mechanism is purpose-built for exactly the idle/underearning capacity Chamath and Elon are describing.
Most of the 2027 “stranded” silicon won’t disappear. It’ll just get listed on platforms like @akashnet @gregosuri
As someone with a portfolio of energized land assets here is what I am seeing:
1. Neoclouds are disorganized and poorly capitalized. Some are definitely better than others however.
2. Hyperscalers are intractable, bureaucratic organizations that take 3 months to do an NDA and want 18mo escrow periods. We built our portfolio by competing against these terms because of our speed and simplicity. The more future assets orgs like ours win, the bigger the problem for the hyperscalers downstream (see 3).
3. There are delays in the existing pipeline that will catch people off guard in 2027. Hyperacalers will (obviously) react by focusing on their own internal compute needs over any third party. If the third party is a model company, they will tell them to go through their model router where they will also take a non-trivial vig. Them telling Ant they have no compute for them (rumored in Ant’s S-1) if true is a huge tell that this is already happening.
All of this is to say that it does look like there will be a lot of partially stranded compute and compute sitting in inventory in 2027 than is currently forecasted. This is bought and paid for but effectively underearning (below total cost of capital) or collecting dust. We see this as true for everyone - model companies, hyperscalers, neoclouds except ONE (you can guess which one).
This dislocation will benefit two kinds of orgs: the non-bureaucratic big scalers who can build industrial scale quickly and the nimble, well capitalized players feeding them.
2027 will be a turbulent year because it will clear out a bunch of wrong/bad bets. It will also be a consolidation year for a few.
a16z: GPUs still renting way ahead of 6-year depreciation (H200 +143%, B200 +111%, H100 +54%) because token demand exploded after April.
While hyperscalers charge premium, @akashnet offers the same cards (H100, B200, A100, RTX PRO 6000 and more) via open marketplace, often at a fraction of the price, paid in $AKT or USD.
AI compute isn’t going back. Decentralized supply wins when demand is this sticky.
$AKT is the ticket. @akashnet @gregosuri

* old coins
* but with serious AI use case & rev
* moved off bottom, dumped into fibs
* then strength + diagonal break
+ AKT moving off cosmos soon to either solana or eth l2
Currently hard to buy it onchain (CEX only) but when they migrate it opens the door for a lot of liquidity
And they are one of the fastest growing providers on OpenRouter
