Indonesia’s creators have the talent. Diplomacy’s job is to help that talent travel. Indonesia’s creative economy contributes more than 7% to our GDP, employs over 27 million people, and generates USD 32 billion in exports. This why President Prabowo Subianto has made the creative economy a pillar of our national economic resilience. At the opening of the 5th World Conference on Creative Economy @wcceid in Jakarta (22/10), I underscored that our diplomacy is ready to serve the creative industries, taking their stories and ideas to new markets, investors, and partners, and making sure international agreements deliver real opportunities. When Indonesia’s stories reach the world, prosperity comes home.

“International law must be upheld consistently, sovereignty must be respected, and colonialism must be brought to an end. Palestine remains one of the clearest tests of these principles, and the test of our conscience." In my National Statement at the 81st UN General Assembly during the High-level Week of the #UNGA81 in New York (26/9), I reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to stand with the Palestinian people and to support their right to self-determination and independence. The issue of Palestine also underscores why multilateralism matters. At a time of growing conflicts and deepening divisions, we need a multilateral system that is more effective, inclusive, and capable of delivering tangible results for our peoples.

We are running out of time to deliver the 2030 Agenda. The task now is to turn development commitments into concrete and measurable action. At the Global Development Initiative (GDI) High-level Meeting during the High-level Week of the #UNGA81 in New York (25/9), I advocated stronger partnerships that expand access to affordable financing, technology and capacity-building, while respecting countries’ own development priorities. GDI must complement existing efforts and strengthen practical coordination, ensuring that every partnership delivers impact for developing countries.

The sanctity of our Holy Sites cannot be violated with impunity. Violations of international law must have consequences. This was the message I conveyed at the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem during the High-level Week of the #UNGA81 in New York (25/9), as I joined other countries in calling for concrete action to uphold the historical and legal status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque and safeguard the sanctity of Jerusalem. We need coordinated action to preserve Palestine’s territorial integrity and advance its path towards independence, sovereignty, and lasting peace.

70 years on, the spirit of Bandung remains as relevant as ever: every nation, big or small, deserves a voice in shaping the future of multilateralism. At the 50th G77 Ministerial Meeting during the High-level Week of the #UNGA81 in New York (25/9), I reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to a more representative and equitable multilateral system that reflects the Global South’s voices and priorities. Together, we must also sustain our collective efforts to advance the 2030 Agenda and ensure that development remains a lasting global priority.

The protection of civilians and ensuring safe, rapid and unhindered humanitarian access in Gaza must remain a priority. This was among the key points I raised with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross @ICRC, on the sidelines of the High-level Week of the #UNGA81 in New York (25/9). Indonesia remains committed to working closely with the ICRC, including to strengthen respect for International Humanitarian Law (IHL).
