Season 3 of Wardogs is less than 10 days away, and I think we can all agree Season 2 left A LOT to be desired. With the next season right around the corner, I’m hoping we see some changes. Here are my top four: 1. Increase attack helicopter kill rewards. Pilots shouldn’t be losing money when performing above average. I believe this is a big reason so many have stepped away until Season 3. Make flying well feel rewarding again. 2. Move the artillery tank back to Wardogs level. Locking it behind Driver level has only pushed us deeper into the FOB meta by limiting access to an effective counter. 3. Adjust the CWIS. It’s supposed to be an AA platform, yet it’s regularly used against FOBs and infantry. It’s simply too effective across too many roles. 4. Rework the MAAWS. Why does a shoulder-fired projectile seem almost unaffected by gravity? Tank operators have to account for travel time and projectile drop. The MAAWS should require similar skill. What are your biggest hopes for Season 3? #wardogs

Fair enough. Hopefully Season 3 works out.
Bulkhead Studios is giving the entire Wardogs team the month of December off following the game’s Early Access launch “Go play GTA 6, we need to detox,” CEO Joe Brammer says the team has worked hard, with everyone taking on extra responsibilities to get the game ready. Now, he believes they’ve earned a proper break. Brammer also made it clear that players shouldn’t expect much support during December.

Thank you for all of your hard work!
Hey everyone! We’re not putting out our DEVLOG this week. We’re making some big moves and want to get the information right before committing to camera. It'll take longer, but this is us building out a stable foundation for Season 03 and beyond. Thanks for your patience.

After hitting Pilot Level 75 last night, there are a few things I’m starting to realize about Season 2. First, the Minigun Little Bird becomes increasingly irrelevant as the season progresses. With the introduction of new tanks and the current FOB meta, the game practically forces you into a Havoc or Rocket Little Bird if you still want to make a meaningful contribution to your team. Before someone jumps in with the usual “you don’t have to fly a helicopter” argument, understand that I’m speaking from the perspective of someone who genuinely enjoys being a pilot. That’s the role I want to play, and that’s how I enjoy experiencing the game. Second, I feel like Season 2 has drifted further away from the developers’ original vision. One of the biggest selling points of WarDogs has always been the freedom to “play how you want to.” However, multiple roles and playstyles have been nerfed so heavily that players are increasingly being pushed into roles they don’t necessarily enjoy just to remain effective. There’s a difference between encouraging players to adapt and making their preferred playstyle so ineffective that they feel forced to abandon it entirely. Third, the current ping restrictions are hurting the international community. Last night, I had the opportunity to speak with several pilots from South Africa. They explained that they can barely play the game anymore unless they’re fortunate enough to find a community server they can join. Previously, they could connect to EU servers without these issues. Now, they’re struggling just to find somewhere to play. And this goes beyond simply finding a server. What happens when I want to fly with another pilot who lives on the other side of the world? As a content creator, I’d love to collaborate with talented pilots from different regions, make content together, and bring different communities closer. Unfortunately, these restrictions have made that significantly more difficult, if not impossible. Ultimately, I feel like Season 2 has introduced too many restrictions on how people can enjoy the game. Whether it’s vehicle balancing, role effectiveness, or regional server access, players are losing some of the freedom that made WarDogs so appealing in the first place. I understand that balancing a game like this isn’t easy, and I appreciate the work the developers are putting in. But I really hope Season 3 focuses on restoring that freedom and bringing the game closer to the original vision that attracted so many of us. Let people play how they want to play. That’s what made WarDogs special. #WARDOGS

Joe please tell me you added windshield wipers to the little birds.
What a crazy week of work... It's only Tuesday. I think I'm finally looking forward to Season 3 after what has been generally a bit of a tough time at work. Looking forward to getting back on track and providing stability for the game.

I see a lot of pilots complaining about the same issues in WarDogs lately. The documented and undocumented nerfs, AA, infantry fire, profitability. But one thing I don’t see discussed nearly enough is the inconsistency of the environment across different maps. You can fly straight through certain objects at high speeds without an issue, but try flying through those exact same objects at a slower speed and you’re instantly destroyed. There’s no consistency, and it makes flying unnecessarily frustrating when you can’t reliably predict what will or won’t destroy your helicopter. And then there’s the MAAWS. This has to be one of the easiest launchers to use in all of gaming. The projectile velocity is insane, it practically feels like hitscan, and there’s virtually no visible smoke trail to help pilots react or identify where the shot came from. On top of all that, it’s incredibly cheap. I’m all for infantry having effective ways to counter helicopters. That’s part of what makes WarDogs great. But there needs to be a reasonable balance between effectiveness, cost, and the skill required to use these weapons. Right now, it feels like pilots are dealing with more and more disadvantages while the tools used to counter them are becoming increasingly forgiving. #WARDOGS
