In a rain-soaked, 2099 Neotokyo (ネオ東京), hacker Isoka races through glowing streets in his snarling Ryujin Yaku (龍神ヤク). A rebel, living what he believes is real life—until a haunting voice begins to whisper inside his head: 「Wake up, Isoka.」 (目覚めなさい、イソカ。) A scarred Yaku-za racer known as White Wolf (白狼) aims to help Isoka, with the help of the twin rabbit-eared operatives. 1 grounded in the living world, the other carrying the chill of a shinigami (死神)— locate the hidden Anchor (アンカー) tethering Isoka to the dream. From somewhere outside of the Yakuverse, the skeletal Captain Tomoe—oversees the operation with cold precision. Lieutenant Yaiba triggers the remote disconnect. Reality splinters. The simulation gasps its last. YAKU (ヤク) — the awakening has only just begun.
