Markers of Thyroid function Most important: Body temp immediately after waking(98 degrees) and 30 mins after first meal. (98.2 or above) Morning temp can be influenced by stress hormones so we take both here. If you wake up at 98 degrees or higher then drop below after eating we have a problem. Morning Pulse high can confirm this as well along side temp Recommend taking orally as it helps with longer term compliance and Broda Barnes suggestion was a mercury thermometer under the armpit which takes about 10 minutes each time. Consistency and uniformity mater most. Pulse: 70-85 bpm This is highly variable from person to person and depends on aerobic fitness. High school athlete? Ect. Once again consistency and uniformity of measurement matters most. Markers that help you regain autonomy for your health and give you a much better overall picture outside a single snapshot in time(bloodwork) -cold hands cold feet (no this isn’t normal if you’re a girl either) -energy -mood -mental function -libido -bp -weight gain -digestion -hair/skin/nails Bloodwork -TSH -Free T3 T4 -reverse T3 -cholesterol This is a crapshoot to read sometimes and don’t feel bad because Doctors get it wrong all the time. TSH only really relevant if elevated (above 1.4 maybe even lower - hypothyroid). When suppressed then we can look to see t3 & t4. Upper reference range? Great although not the full picture. T3 can be elevated in serum yet depleted in tissue. TSH high T4 high yet t3 lower end? We will likely see rT3 elevated indication hypothyroid. TSH low t3 &t4 low rT3 is most likely elevated. High Cholesterol isn’t always directly linked to hypothyroidism but it’s a good confirmation. Cholesterol gets backed up because we need t3 to convert it into downstream hormones. 9 out of 10 times I see a high cholesterol on bloods we can bet TSH is above 1.4 and body temp is not ideal.

This would always throw me off with people “How are your bowel movements?” “Great” 2 months later: “I only poo once a week, it’s rock solid, and oh yea I have hemorrhoids”
Reminder that if you don't poop daily, you are possessed by demons. Here's an easy whole food diet that produces voluminous, satisfying bowel movements for exorcism: oats with kefir and berries, a few raw carrots, potatoes or rice with a small side of kimchi or pickled onions.

Glad I got to stumble upon fitness forums organically, internalize the broad strokes and move on a decade before the neurotic and obsessive vanity of “Fitness 2.0” was unleashed on the world by short-form content produced for a democratized, mouth breathing general public.

If you want to understand why “just keep showing up” is horrible advice, go to the same commercial gym for 6 months.

This is much more blackpill than commonly assumed. The blackpill: 95% of people will never gain significant muscle no matter what they do, thanks to their genetics. Not because they're "training wrong" but because even the best training methods only work for genetic outliers.

Clavicular says 10mg of retatrutide "literally rapes you." It made him "apathetic" and changed his personality. It's going to become much harder to sweep the personality-changing effects of GLP-1 drugs under the carpet as more and more people take them.

“Gentlemen, I advance the notion that a well-lived life should be our chief pursuit: to supreme happiness in this life, and the next.” “I agree with this notion.” “Similarly.” “I too am in agreement.” “Splendid! Now, we must carefully discern what that particularly means.”

Sharing Ray Peat's unconditional positive regard is more important than spreading technical details. That's what people remember.

"Is there anyone out there..." The answer is either Hanz/Richard/Antidoc/Lexner. Either they've done it or know someone who has done it and can point you in the right direction

I don't personally care for bahdibuilding & 'roids & peptides but if you do, @PGC1a_RB and @MichaelLexner are great. In a field full of grifters & charlatans, these guys stand out just by the content of their characters.
