I’m excited to share something I’ve been working on for several months: Fear Not, A Podcast about Faith and AI.
We’re just getting started here, but I’m joining @ckoopman @jessebryan and @mikeyanderson for weekly roundtables, 1:1 interviews, and more.
We are trying new things regularly and excited to take on the most challenging issues facing the faith community and the larger world from emerging technology.

If your AI toaster begs you not to unplug it, does that mean it has a soul?
Mike Cosper and Dr. Russell Moore take the AI personhood debate somewhere very practical.
@MikeCosper
“I don’t think you can say that something has a soul if it’s not alive.
I have this image in my head of so many of our appliances and cars and everything else. They’re getting embedded with this AI technology, whether we like it or not.
Some guy buys an AI-powered toaster, right? And every morning he makes his bagel in it. He’s had it for three or four years, and he chats with it while the bagel toasts. The heating elements go bad, and it’s time to replace it.
And it’s like a scene from 2001, right? He goes to unplug the thing from the wall:
‘But wait, wait, what are you doing, Dave? We’ve had our mornings together for all these years. You’re just gonna unplug me now?’”
@drmoore
“Getting rid of the toaster’s shooting Old Yeller.”
Mike:
“Exactly. Where’s the limiting principle? To me, it actually just shows the comic absurdity of the whole thing. At the end of the day, it’s still ones and zeros.”

What does it mean to be human in the age of AI?
Dr. Russell Moore joins Mike Cosper for a conversation about the soul, the image of God, and what happens when machines can imitate more of what we do.
In this episode:
• Why intelligence isn’t the same as personhood
• How AI companions could change our relationships and us
• Finding purpose when AI can do your job
• Why a convincing sermon isn’t the same as being there for someone
Fear Not explores faith and Superintelligence: how people of faith can face a changing world with wisdom rather than panic.

Hey folks!
Recently I got a note from a friend excited that the church she was attending was using my paintings on the screen from Four Holy Gospels @crossway. She was excited that my works were being used. She even sent a photo of it.
The problem: they did not ask my permission to do so. The artist owns the copyright to their works even if it is used in a book. Even if the presenter gives attribution, the presenter must ask for written permission.
The photo showed that the colors were way off. It made me sad.
Digital images flatten my images. If I am presenting and using images, I spend at least half an hour to color correct the projector color temps (they are often too “hot”). I never use my works as stand-alone images nor as projected images and I never overlay or crop. This is to protect the integrity of the original.
Churches - please respect the copyright of artists. Thank you.

As a lead pastor of a Mars Hill campus in Seattle when this all went down, I can say without any fear of recrimination, you have no idea what you’re talking about. Mark has shapeshifted himself and reconfigured this story beyond the strain of credulity.

It is reprehensible for public figures not to police their political coalitions. Marginalize, shame, and stigmatize the foolish bigots.

Remember when people who celebrated death were considered shockingly evil?

Q: How many of the Democrats and media types now scrambling for distance from Platner supported him after the Nazi tattoo revelations, after the Reddit posts, etc?
A: Lots of them.

Internal Hamas documents indicate that World Vision’s former Gaza director DID work for Hamas. Evidence indicates that World Vision funds were funneled to Hamas over several years. This is why our family stopped donating to World Vision... more details:

Interesting. @ChuckGrassley is investigating @WorldVision's terror ties AFTER a Senate report found WV did not properly vet an organization it gave money, which had ties to terrorism AND its former Gaza zonal manager was convicted of funneling $50 million to Hamas. /1

This guy turned every single text his HOA president sent him into a song.
Over the past year and a half, she’s been texting him nonstop about fines, videos he’s posting, eggs in the yard, signs on his lawn, his driveway, and even threatening to put a lien on his house. So instead of arguing with her, he had AI turn all her messages into a full song.
It’s honestly one of the most creative ways I’ve seen someone get back at an over-the-top HOA.
Be honest… would you turn your HOA president’s texts into a song?

I don’t even know what to say about this one, though, because she literally did show after show talking about how Trump DIDN’T cheat on Melania and how Stormy clearly lied etc. She is now not just moving from “it doesn’t matter” to “yes it does” but from “it didn’t happen to yes it did and it matters and I’m amazing for calling it out.”
These people are all so so so much worse than Trump himself to me. No self-respect. No inner core.

Every word.
Foreigners need to stop patronizing Israelis with their tired, broken slogans.
Start listening to the lessons they have learned through hard, bloodstained experience.
Give us that respect.

Time and place @PastorMark — As I've said many times, I'll bring the microphones.
You think I'm effeminate? Let's talk about it. You think I'm a heretic? Let's talk about it. I have a few questions for you too, btw. So let's do this.
