I hope so. I’m an insufferable BYU fan! And that’s the whole point of being a fan. If you aren’t insufferable you are doing it wrong.

GO COUGS!
Not a single team stayed put in this week’s AP Top 25. Miami is No. 1 for the first time since 2002 and BYU climbs to No. 2 after a historic weekend of upsets. See where your team landed: apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-col…

Kimball, I think we probably see eye to eye on many things, and I hope you'll take me in good faith here: this is not Abby's conference. She did not invite any speakers. She did not who else was invited to speak. Please take this issue up with the conference organizers, not our good First Lady.

Normie, I appreciate you dealing in good faith in the past, so I'll make a direct plea here: this is not the First Lady's conference. She was invited to speak without knowledge of who else was speaking. She does not have control over the conference agenda. Please take it up with the conference organizers, not our First Lady.

Utah just ranked No. 1 in the nation for the lowest student loan debt burden, leads the nation in concurrent enrollment for high school students, and offers some of the best tuition value in the country. That's the result of a shared effort. From the Legislature investing in higher education and pushing for accountability and value, to the Utah Board of Higher Education, university presidents, campus leaders, faculty, and students working together to keep costs manageable and outcomes strong. A big thank you to the Board of Higher Ed and university leaders for coming together to make this a reality. It's incredible to see the changes that have been made in just a few years. There's still more work to do. Utah families are feeling the cost of living rise. We're going to continue working to make higher education attainable, keep life affordable, and make sure Utahns have the opportunity to build a future here in Utah. ksl.com/article/51627873/uta…

One of the reasons I’m supporting Kathleen for SL County Council is that she is a small business owner. No one understands the impact of taxes and regulations more than a small business owner.
Every day a customer says, “you have the best cards!” I spend a lot of time choosing those cards. Some customers will stand at the card display for 30 minutes and laugh. Sometimes shopping local gives little lifts of spirit most people didn’t even know they needed.

Two important things: First, I recently started reading Off Ramp, by @SpencerJCox, and already I'm recommending it to everyone (more thoughts after I finish the book). Second, and related, the decline of civil society is a big reason we find it so hard to disagree constructively with our fellow Americans, which has led to the "age of contempt" we're now in. This week's Defending Ideas from @SutherlandInst dives into that decline, and why you should care. Here's a segment from the discussion: youtu.be/H_NKK-jDyFs?si=BQib… Self-government is hard. But we have all the ingredients we need to re-learn this essential civc skillset.

Integrity like this only gets mocked here on the internet and X, but this is real integrity and she deserves the praise of all Utahans, regardless of political party. Thank you @LGHendersonUtah @mckaycoppins (making sure @SenJohnCurtis and @RepMaloyUtah see this)
“We Should Stop Being Hypocrites” You don't hear this from a sitting Republican official every day. Utah @LGHendersonUtah says if her party is OK with Republicans nationalizing elections but objects when Democrats do it, "then we're hypocrites, and we can't talk." Henderson talks Trump’s DOJ investigation into her, election security and more with @mckaycoppins in this episode of “Deseret Voices.”

As expected, the United States Supreme Court has upheld the injunction blocking the USPS mail ballot rule. Utahns can have confidence that the 2026 election will proceed as normal. 🧵

.@govcox has appointed more women to his cabinet and set of senior advisors than any Utah governor in history. I'm one of them. As anyone that knows me can attest, I have a very high radar for misogyny. Have I experienced misogyny from time to time from various folks during my tenure? Yes. But from my boss Governor Cox? Never, not an ounce. @nytimes you got this wrong. This is a story about politics, not gender.
In an attempt to punish Mormon women successfully organizing to protect their rights and democracy, Gov Spencer Cox and Utah’s Republican lawmakers expanded the state Supreme Court by two seats (choosing two new male justices), and then created a new “constitutional court” to hear select lawsuits regarding gerrymandering and abortion. nytimes.com/2026/09/13/us/po…

Governor Spencer Cox — who appointed more women to the Utah Supreme Court than any other governor in Utah history? Who created Utah’s first female-majority Supreme Court in 2023? Who appointed more women to his Cabinet than any other governor in Utah history, including many of the state’s largest agencies? I see NYT is still holding their hammer from 2020, thinking everything is a nail.

@LGHendersonUtah is right to defend her constitutional role as Utah’s elections leader. Elections are the responsibility of the states, and Utah conducts them with integrity. Lt. Gov. and her office are doing a terrific job protecting that tradition. deseret.com/politics/2026/09…

Thank you, @GovCox for your declaration. Today weighs heavy on many hearts around the world, but it also holds a little more meaning for myself and these three other students. Not only is today “Charlie Kirk Day” here in Utah, it’s also a statewide day for Civic Service and Engagement, we are grateful for the State of Utahs recognition on our proposal and hope that you all can do one act of service for another today.
One year ago today, Charlie Kirk came to Utah to take part in a fundamental American tradition: speak openly, debate ideas, and persuade others. Today, we honor Charlie’s memory by choosing a politics worthy of our country, one where we stand firmly for what we believe and reject violence. September 10, 2026, is officially Charlie Kirk Day in Utah.

Legal disagreements between Utah and the federal government should be resolved in court. It is wrong for the DOJ to investigate or threaten the lieutenant governor for carrying out her responsibilities under Utah law.
The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating Utah Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson after she refused to turn sensitive voter information over to the federal government, according to a letter sent by the agency's Civil Rights Division. ow.ly/bvsR50ZLIXO
