Lunch in the Andes. The pumpkin soup and tender beef were excellent. Also, I'd had the Chilean Merlot I had with the latter before.
The on board entertainment isn't ideal, there really needed to be a troupe of Peruvians in blackface singing some rousing and blood curdling number about Alberto Fujimori dealing with communists, would have knocked it out of the park.

It’s not repulsive at all. Brand was welcomed into the populist left movement and lionised by them. As recently as 3 years ago he was still being promoted by the Corbyn crank left, 5 years after Katherine Ryan publicly confronted him.

The actual circumstances leading up to the murder case which established race-based sentencing guidelines in Canada…were so cartoonishly stereotyped about feather-Indians that the most racist man alive would’ve balked at making them up.
Because they’re all self promoting pricks?
In 2008, Russell Brand publicly humiliated Andrew Sachs and his granddaughter, Georgina Baillie. His behaviour was so disgraceful that he was suspended by the BBC and then resigned.
Yet by 2015, Ed Miliband was courting him. His character and treatment of women were hardly a secret. I found Brand repellent at the time. Perhaps that reflected my un-unfashionable bourgeois values. 🤷♂️
But what I want to know
is what on earth did Ed Miliband and others find so attractive at the time? And what did their willingness to overlook Brand’s behaviour say about their own moral judgement and credibility?
