I would kill for a Volus squad mate. They're easily my favorite species. You could have so much fun with a adept or sentinel Volus who isn't physically strong but has powerful biotic and/or tech.
Think of all the amazing companions we had across Mass Effect. Somehow, we still barely scratched the surface of races. We get:
- 10 Humans
- 4 Asari
- 3 Krogan
But we really could have used more of these:
- 2 Turian
- 1 Salarian
- 1 Quarian
- 1 Drell
- 1 Geth
- 1 Prothean
- 1 AI
- 1 Angara
BUT we never had a...
- Batarian
- Volus
- Vorcha
- Hanar
- Elcor
- Yahg
- Rachni
& more
Imagine the possibilities.
A Batarian trying to earn the trust of a human crew. A Volus who is genuinely dangerous and potentially a biotic god. A Vorcha who slowly becomes more intelligent and capable – or stays dumb and extremely hard get off your new rug. An Elcor heavy weapons specialist calmly announcing: "With barely contained excitement: I have a solution." A Hanar assassin who makes Thane seem talkative.
We had some incredible companions in Mass Effect but after four games, there were still entire cultures we had barely experienced from the inside.
Which race deserved a squadmate the most?

Seeing someone call cis people 'Cissies' has changed my brain chemistry forever. Like, that's so funny. Keep that up.

Just caught the premiere of @dilukha_illust 's newest song and it was absolutely amazing. The verses were absolutely haunting and the chorus had a manic energy I loved. Another amazing song. I can't wait to see where they'll go from here.

I wouldn´t be surprised if in the next 5 to 10 years fvns stopped being a thing in general, because jesus christ on a bike i have NEVER seen a community of creators of free art be so attacked and disrespected over nothing. People be out there loudly saying shit for no reason.
Not gonna lie. This might have been the single most soul-crushing thing I could have read today.
I've dedicated so much of my life to working in this medium, and seeing it be so cleanly shut down is so incredibly painful.
No matter how much I try, it'll always be seen as less.

I made a think piece about my complex feelings about finishing a project, and how that's affected me mentally, but also my opinions on writing FVNs in general.
It's called 'The End of a Journey: The Safety of a Forever Project.'
It's a hopeful outlook.
