Reminder that Canada under the Harper government *did* raise the OAS eligibility age.
Had Trudeau not reversed this courageous reform, we would be spending $11 billion less on OAS by 2029, according to the PBO.
When OAS was created in 1952, the benefit began at age 70. Life expectancy was 68, and the ratio of workers to retirees was 8 to 1.
Eligibility is now at 65, with life expectancy at 81, and the ratio of workers to retirees down to 3 to 1.
The current system represents a massive, unjust intergenerational transfer of wealth which is obviously unsustainable.

UBCโs treatment of Steven Galloway is the biggest Canadian academic scandal in living memory, but the university itself has spent millions trying to cover it up and hasnโt investigated any of the main players. Annabel Lyon, who personally led the campaign to frame Galloway (and get him locked up in an Ohio psych ward), inherited leadership of the creative writing department after her putsch. Dean of Arts Gage Averill is now the @UBC provost, making $500K of taxpayer money every year. Keith Maillard, gallowayโs old mentor who turned on him like an absolute snake to ingratiate himself with the false accuser, retired in 2025. They threw him a big party, with everyone pretending his career hadnโt ended in disgrace. No major research university in any other country could get away with this malicious and incompetent behaviour without accountability.

In July 2020, 14-year-old Tamar from Marken was hit by a car on a dark dike road and left to die. Her body was later found in the berm.
What happened next is deeply disturbing.
The police initially told her mother that the driver was German. Days later the truth came out: it was four Iraqis in the car. The mother was told they withheld the real background because they didnโt want to create a "Wilders-effect" โ they didnโt want to give Geert Wilders political ammunition.
Even worse: evidence strongly suggests Tamarโs body was moved after the accident. The driver didnโt just flee, they dragged her off the road and left her there like an animal.
The driver received only a โฌ1,500 fine for looking at his phone while driving. He then disappeared completely. The fine was returned โundeliverableโ and for years he was untraceable.
Only after years of fighting by the family (including going to court to force prosecution), a breakthrough came in March 2026: the now 33-year old Jamal is finally being prosecuted for causing the fatal accident and leaving the scene.
Just like Henry Nowak in Southampton โ an innocent young person dies, authorities seem more focused on protecting a narrative and avoiding โpolitical incorrectnessโ than on delivering swift justice.
A 14-year-old girl dies on a Dutch dike. The system lies about the identity of the driver, gives him a slap on the wrist, loses him for years, and only after massive pressure does real prosecution begin.
This is not just a traffic accident. This is a story about truth, accountability, and what happens when institutions put ideology before grieving families.
