But as the Left distanced itself from religion, a spiritual void emerged, and the woke system rushed to fill it. It's no coincidence that woke ideology mimics the structure of religion. Here's how it plays out: Sin and Penance: In woke culture, certain actions and beliefs are labeled as "sins," be it privilege, microaggressions, or problematic opinions. Like original sin, simply existing in certain demographics (or thinking the "wrong" way) is viewed as inherently flawed. But there is a path to redemption: acknowledgment of your sins, public apologies, and repeated acts of penance. Forgiveness and Salvation: Salvation in this new system comes through public confessions, self-criticism, and an endless cycle of apologies. Forgiveness isn't always granted, but when it is, it often requires complete submission to the ideology. Those who conform fully are embraced, but one misstep can lead to excommunication, or being "cancelled." Moral Code: The "rules" come from a constantly shifting doctrine, often handed down through social media influencers, activists, and intellectuals who dictate what is and isn't acceptable. Like religious texts, these rules are sacred, and questioning them is seen as heresy. Group Belonging: The woke ideology provides a sense of community, a tribe that fiercely enforces its beliefs and brings like-minded individuals together. Just as traditional religions unite people around shared values, the woke movement offers belonging—provided you strictly adhere to its moral code. Evangelism: Many woke adherents feel it's their duty to spread their beliefs, often with the zeal of missionaries. Dissenters are not merely disagreed with; they are seen as morally corrupt, requiring conversion or public condemnation. In essence, the woke mind virus has become the new faith for those who rejected traditional religion. It provides a worldview, a sense of purpose, and a moral framework; yet, it lacks the grace, forgiveness, and humility that are foundational to many traditional faiths. Instead, it thrives on division, punishment, and a rigid code that leaves little room for human error. For those seeking meaning without the divine, woke ideology fills the gap.
