There's a 1997 italian cyberpunk movie called "Nirvana", where the main character (played by Christopher Lambert) is a sort of Hideo Kojima type of creator, that makes games talking to an AI. Watch it if you haven't. It's really one of a kind.
MGS2 ci aveva visto lungo.
People should stop worrying about AI slop and start worrying about human slop.
Human slop is everywhere. It’s been around forever, and it’s far more destructive than anything AI is producing.
And I’m convinced that most people still complaining about AI making mistakes haven’t seriously used it in the past six months.
And if they have, they’ve been talking to a chatbot, not working with autonomous agents.
Because I cannot imagine someone experiencing what modern AI agents are capable of and still being anti-AI.
You can come up with the most ridiculous idea imaginable, give it to an agent, and watch it actually attempt to make it happen.
Things that would’ve required entire teams, years of experience, and enormous budgets are becoming accessible to anyone.
The possibilities are practically endless.
And somehow people are still arguing about AI slop.

This experience resonates with my own. Years and years of publishing, buying character art, paying 200 to 300 percent markup on images because of commercial use.
Only to hear from people who had delivered before “I lost motivation to work on your commission” or “i can’t do hands and feet, portraits only no action poses.” This isn’t a stranger, these are people who delivered one good item then flaked out.
I went to local events, found artists with beautiful portfolios and hired them. Only to have a half assed commission delivered months later than agreed on and the characters being sloppy and ugly.
I have spent more than I am comfortable with on art i couldn’t use and far more in lost deposits from folks who just abandoned the work.
When I switched to services like deposit photos and getcovers to photo bash what I wanted I got criticized for not paying artists. As if the poor results were just the “cost” of doing business.
One of my biggest frustrations is the refusal to take direction. I want a character drawn, here is two or three pages of the written description from the book. “No, I will not take that. Instead go find reference images online, use photos. Give me body position, hair style, eye color, body type, and clothing.”
All this before mid journey was even a wet dream. The experience as a consumer is terrible.
Then comes AI. It’s reliable, it eliminates drift on images and style, it allows me to express the image exactly as I see it. I can feed a scene in and have it give me the prompts to make it. I couldn’t even get artists to read a page.
Suddenly, my only limitation is the time I am willing to invest. There is no gamble on whether I might be able to use a piece when it finally gets delivered.
But I wait. Year later, the tech is way better. Coke has an AI commercial. X-rays are read by AI. The world is moving. Yet I am supposed to take the loss? I am supposed to let my products suffer?
I don’t think so.
“Support real artists! Don’t use AI!”
I DID. I spent THOUSANDS commissioning artists who took my money, ghosted me for months, and spent their time pumping out adoptables and YCHs instead of delivering my artwork.
So I used AI to finish what they wouldn't.
Now other artists refuse my money because I've used AI.
You told me to support artists. I DID. You took my money, wasted my time, and now shame me for finding an alternative.
You're not fighting AI. You're driving paying customers straight into its arms.
Sempre.

When I was opposed to AI, I didn't have the full picture. The noise on social media is so deafening that you almost have to detox your mind and take the opposite stance just to filter it out.
It was only when I put these tools under serious stress this summer that I truly understood them.
I talk to my clients every day, and I've realized that the fear of being "replaced" is so unfounded, for one simple reason: IT is so complex that most people have never wanted to learn it themselves. They have always relied on an expert to manage their systems.
For most people, IT is like trying to read hieroglyphs without a Rosetta Stone. And even with the stone, they still wouldn't see the whole picture.
But you can.
AI is fundamentally no different. It's just another powerful advancement in IT, and someone still has to manage it. There will always be clients, big or small, who have no intention of learning IT, let alone how to use AI for complex projects.
We know that using AI as a chatbot is very different from using it as an agent. Both are powerful, but a chatbot mainly manages and organizes information, while an agent can create, generate, and orchestrate entire systems at remarkable scale and speed.
That is the key.
Learn these systems as well as you can, and use your problem-solving skills to orchestrate your agents to build what your clients need.
I haven't lost a single client since AI arrived. On the contrary, I keep gaining new ones.
"Mental breakdown".
If this was 15 or 20 years ago, I'd be mega hyped.
Now?
Now it's painfully obvious to me why they decided to choose Hammerfell of all places for the next setting. Redguard representation because DEI. Yes, yes. I know it's only a teaser trailer, but my pattern recognition senses are tingling right now.
I give it a month after this game releases and everyone will go back to Skyrim, Oblivion or Morrowind.
Poverini. In galera!!

Monsters Inc., a new Pixar animation film starring John Goodman and Billy Crystal, premieres in theaters.
"La Bibbia è stata scritta dagli uomini", che non vuol dire un bel niente. Chi crede sa che una saggezza del genere è stata ispirata da Dio, che non può essere campata per aria. Anche fosse tutto inventato (e non lo è) devi essere davvero bravo a scrivere cose così ferree.
Replying to @trad_west_
Because it was WRITTEN BY MAN lmao. It takes one to know one. Imagine giving us free will and give us an entire list of what we can't do or we go to hell.
L'invidia assume moltissime forme.
