Matthew Loftus has written a new book titled “Resisting Therapy Culture: The Dangers of Pop Psychology and How the Church Can Respond.” Loftus observes that therapeutic language and psychological concepts have become so widely popularized that they are often misapplied, losing their original clinical significance and becoming harmful when used as a universal lens through which to interpret everyday life. @DanProft welcomed Loftus, who teaches and practices family medicine at a mission hospital in Kenya, to elaborate on the distinction.

Thank you @DanProft and @MorningAnswer for having me on this morning to talk more about my reporting on @SenatorSlotkin for @ThinkerChicago! Listen and read here: morninganswerchicago.com/mic…
This Communist wants to form a one-party state by persecuting the opposite political party and scaring young people out of serving in government. She refuses to apologize for her sinister remarks and continues to double down on her authoritarian impulses. Sickening.

My friend's autobiography "Built After Broken" is a good story well told. Available on Amazon. Cawley recounts his life with a candor unafraid of poignancy, but which avoids the maudlin. It is a tribute to the formula: reflection + correction = inflection. His noble purpose with the book is to provide an example to others as to how to build their own life while hopefully getting lost fewer times than he did along the way. @MorningAnswer omny.fm/shows/chicagos-morni…

Research from the Heartland Institute has been tracking the rise of Democratic Socialists of America-aligned candidates within the Democratic Party, describing the trend as a long-term ideological takeover comparable to the broader progressive movement’s historical influence over cultural institutions. @DanProft welcomed Christopher Talgo, editorial director at the @HeartlandInst, to discuss the organization’s tracking of DSA-aligned candidates since 2018.

Speaking at a rally in Kansas, President Trump reacted to escalating unrest in France and Western Europe, reiterating his longstanding warning that nations failing to secure their borders risk losing their national identity altogether. @DanProft was joined by Gavin Mortimer, a British author based in Burgundy who writes on French politics, terrorism, and sport for outlets including The Spectator, to discuss the unrest further.

You can draw a straight line from unrest in France to policy decisions in Illinois, arguing that both reflect the direct consequences of voters’ choices rather than circumstances imposed on them. @DanProft welcomed @GlennonMarkE, founder of @Wirepoints, for their weekly discussion of Illinois policy issues.

BLM Brandon ended ShotSpotter because he claimed it was racist...but now it's being replaced with another system that does the very same thing? No wonder he's at a 22% approval rating.

If you live in one of the gray states, your governor has blocked scholarships from the new Trump federal scholarship program from being given to kids in your state. And I would recommend upgrading to a better governor.

Great news, Chicago!
Chicago has the worst traffic in America. Another testament to the incompetence of @IDOT_Illinois and @ChicagoDOT and their abysmal ability to deliver projects on time.

Isn't Brandon Johnson's Chicago lovely?
Wouldn't be a Sunday morning in Brandon Johnson's Chicago without a mass shooting. Obviously, community violence intervention workers were busy slinging dope or selling guns elsewhere to prevent this latest crime. But let's keep funding CVI programs, right?

When Larry David abandons the latest iteration of the Left...too bad Curb is done, a DSA parody including selections from the satire below (I chose my two favorites) would have been timely. #7: In an effort to make amends for centuries of slavery, reparations will be instituted, along with a lottery system in which white people will be selected to serve as slaves to Black families for one year. Lashings are encouraged for excessive whining, and government-issued whips will be distributed at no cost. #12: We Democratic Socialists love to laugh … but not at the expense of others. The last thing we want is for any person to be offended by a joke that targets them or someone they know. No one should ever have their feelings hurt. Consequently, any comedian who is responsible for causing emotional discomfort in any way will be sent to a facility where they will be re-programmed and hopefully emerge with a greater awareness of the sensitivities of their fellow citizens. If, however, the re-programming is unsuccessful, the repeat offender will be sent to Pitcairn Island to live with the Bagel People. airmail.news/issues/2026-10-…
