You know if that ends up being the case I'm ok with that. Too many times people say the things people want to hear and compromise their beliefs and values to get ahead. I'll can say I didn't do that.

There are 11 states that have AR bans all of which are still intact infact as of June of 25 the court declined to hear any arguments upholding them. You're argument is fundamentally flawed and you know that and that's why you are terrified for the people to weigh in. But I understand if I were you I'd make the same arguments it's what funds your machine.

A few thoughts for those who are going out to protest this weekend. I know there are several planned all over the state this weekend. Use your voices and be clear with your convictions. That's your first amendment right. The rioting that is going on and the stuff being destroyed doesn't help anyone in the long run it just exasperates an already tense situation and I for one do not want the military deployed in Minnesota. I can't believe we are even talking about that being on the table but here we are. Please do not get into it with the police and or throw stuff at them or insult them. They are there to keep everyone safe so you can exercise your rights. The vast majority of the men and women who suit up everyday do it because they want to make a difference. I ask that you give them that respect and I'm positive they will in turn do the same. We talk about it all the time in Mounds View our police department serves our community and they are not connected with the feds or their operations. I'd imagine this is true for most departments. I think it's important that you know that given the awareness around federal operations. So enjoy yourselves this weekend, be safe, and treat the police fairly and I'm confident everyone comes home safe and everyone will have a good time. Back in the early 2000's there used to be a saying (PLUR) Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect. We'd all be well served to exercise a little PLUR me included. #PLUR #PROTESTSAFELY

Since having a mug shot can get you elected president. Long before @realDonaldTrump punk ass was out doing jail photo-opps I was earning mine. When people trying to say I don't know about police I can assure you I do and again I will say I am utterly grateful for the men and women who suit up to keep our communities safe when they do it with pride and integrity and I believe most do including MPD. Our police in Mounds View do. In 2018 they respond to my call at my home for me overdosing at 5am and started life saving measures. I was blue no pulse and not breathing. They kept me alive until the abulance got there to rush me to the hospital where I spent 2 days in a coma. The man who saved my life is now our chief and we have great relationship. The irony of this is still something I grapple with all the time. It's so humbling. So when I talk about Floyd as a former resident of Minneapolis (Southx2, North, and Northeast) even though I'm Suburban Mayor I know what I'm talking about. From multiple angles. If Chuavin and the rest of MPD that was there that day would have done for Floyd what the Mounds View PD did for me (which they are trained to do) in a similar situation maybe things would have been different that day. Unless you have real credibility in the arena of legal problems and overdosing and nearly dying with the police saving your life I'm really not interested in your opinion because I've lived it. This may not be the smartest post to make but that's ok that's who I am. I tell the truth and hold my head high.I don't hide from my past and I wouldn't change a thing because it keeps me grounded. I'm grateful for everyday I wake up and this awesome life I get to live. I'm unbelievably humbled by the opportunity the residents of Mounds View and @GovTimWalz have given me to try to make a difference in the lives in as many people as I can and that's truly what I'm here to do regardless of your politics.
